In the beginning days of the Internet, Abraham Lincoln decreed in a lesser known speech, "let us conserve our words on Wednesdays and Sundays so that we do not have a shortage of them on other days of the week!".  What followed were blog posts by Henry Ford and Thomas Edison that only used pictures, and the tradition continues to this day.

The first people I recall seeing do this were the Siegels when they were active members here.  Then I think it was just Wednesdays though.  The concept was to focus more on image(s) and let them do the talking.  Was never really my thing.
