When I do a members only question, I wear my members only jacket, and it's usually something about the industry and not something I think the public should be able to see our thoughts.  Stuff about legislation, the umpteen lawsuits against the industry, etc.

But here’s the catch—if you’re worried about the wider world stumbling across those questions and answers, well, they’d really have to dig deep. Think of it like trying to find a needle in a haystack—possible, but not exactly common. So, for the average outsider, those member-only threads are kind of like a secret recipe—they might suspect it exists, but they’re not exactly going to stumble onto it by accident.

 

And, let’s be honest, does it really matter if strangers can’t see every little detail? Sometimes, it’s enough to just keep the core members happy and engaged. After all, isn’t the whole point of a tight-knit community to foster trust and open conversation among those who are in the know?
