Yes ... it’s essentially FinCEN tightening the net on money laundering in the transaction types where it shows up most often. For my business, it’ll be a rare issue since I seldom work with that kind of buyer or that kind of purchase. And that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it. 😄

There is a new form in our California forms system that automatically attaches to the offer bundle. It is the Federal Reporting Requirement Purchase Addendum. I am sure California agents are not the only ones who now must submit such a form with all purchase offers.

We've had those in effect for a few years now out here in Los Angeles.  We were round two of the testing, with Miami being in round one.  Old hat here.

I am glad I am not a compliance officer for the government.  This task is for those firms holding escrow funds.  In Miami there was a huge effort to track prior transaction during the drug running days.
