I have never been interested in reading books for inspiration- it simply comes from within for me. In the 90's when I was in college- I had a class where mandatory reading included The E-Myth (which is now The E-Myth Revisited) and I often see brokerage managers recommending that agents read this book. I do occasionally watch TED Talks videos which are often both educational as well as inspirational. I do read, a lot, but it's mostly news or technical info rather than books. As to the book scene- for me I mostly read fiction.

I've not read any other book for years other than the one we are excluding here, Thomas J. Nelson, REALTOR ® CRS,ABR,PSA,RCS-D, CFSP I cannot even remember the last other book I read.  I have boxes and boxes of books in my garage.  I could fill a small library.

Although this book was written in 2001 I found it an amazing read Thomas J. Nelson, REALTOR ® CRS,ABR,PSA,RCS-D, CFSP . If one would read it again today you would say Patrick J. Buchanan must have had divine inspiration when he wrote it because so much of what he said has come true in such a short time.

Regretfully I loaned my autographed copy to a pastor who did not return it and even denied I gave it to him... yes, even some pastors are scum.

I'm with Adam Feinberg and Kathleen Daniels, Probate & Trust Real Estate Svcs. on this one.  I don't do a whole lot of reading... ok that's a lie, I almost never pick up a book now and might go years between chapters in the one I'm reading.  I bought a Kindle to make it easier to take the book with me, which has helped some, but after a hard day I just want to veg and zone out watching some mindless TV with the puppy next to me and a hot chocolate in my hand.

 

What I do read, is mostly sci-fi or fantasy.  Not really a business/motivational book kind of guy.  I do a fair amount of reading of news and technical articles during the day.  Right now reading a lot about MLSs, UDP 3.6, and AI.

I have two recommendations that go hand-in-hand!
First, I recently re-read 'Atomic Habits' by James Clear. It is a fantastic reminder of how small, 1% improvements every day compound into massive business results over time. Definitely a must-read for anyone looking to optimize their daily routines.
Second, I highly recommend 'The One Thing' by Gary Keller. It is an incredible book for real estate professionals because it forces you to cut through the daily noise and focus strictly on the single most important task that drives revenue. They are both excellent choices for any entrepreneur's list!
