My favorite home away from home Time sure seems to be flying by as we are in the year 2021, wow where did time go?And as time keeps flying by it brings me closer & closer to spending 4-5 months during spring, summer & fall in beautiful Alaska.Still working in the Bay Area with all this Covid-19 crap and there has been many times when I just wanted to hang it up, retire and get away from the rat race. I am going to give it 1 maybe 2 years and I'm out of here and on my way to The Last Frontier. Sure I visit my properties in Alaska 4 weeks every year but it's just not enough time. About the time I really start relaxing and enjoying my home away from home I have to head back. Here is a wonderful photo I took of a double rainbow at Tuner Lake where the road splits to Seward or Homer 80 miles...

Here is one neighborhood moose that comes around in the evenings and eats vegetation on our property in Alaska. 2 years ago this moose was just a little one and has grown up so fast. One of the main reasons the moose eat around our property all the time is because we love them, talk to them and never try and hunt them ...

Let's try to Express only Love at this Time ... With everything that's going on around the world it can be very difficult at times not be in a negative mood. All the terrible news about the virus, so many people laid off from their jobs and many people being stuck in their homes for 3-4-5 weeks.I have left 3 wonderful photos (eye candy) for anyone that has been feeling down and out, a little pick me up. And let's try something in these times of despair. Whether we are home, working, shopping, with family or friends, let's try to express (only) Love. I know this can be very difficult with everything that is going on, but let's go out of our way to express Love with everyone, along with praying for everyone around the world. Love and Prayer, what a great combination ...

Life and Death When we compare the present life of man with time of which have no knowledge,it seems like the swift flight of a lone sparrow through the banqueting-hall in winter ...This sparrow flies swiftly in through one door of the hall, and out through another. While he is inside, he is safe from the winter storms; but after a few moments of comfort, he vanishes from sight into the darkness whence he came.Similarly, man appears on earth for a little while, but we know nothing of what wentbefore this life, and what follows. Therefore if (Christianity) can reveal certain knowledge, it seems only right that weshould follow it. -BEDE,A History of the English Church and PeopleGenesis 36.33

Many Changes For Vegas Bob In 2020 Vegas Bob has always been a person of planning for the future & thoughts from the past.2020 has already started to be a year of change & transformation, without much thought, thinking & or talking to myself.I recently moved in January, switched construction jobs 2 weeks ago, will be getting into a new set of wheels because my 3 year car lease is over and several other changes have come into effect since the turn of a new century.2020 has already been & will continue to be a year of constant change for Vegas Bob. Less thought & more action ... So how has 2020 been going for you so far?Have there been any huge changes for you?Have you been really thinking about change or taking action right away?

If I was to build a home it might look like thisWith just my wife and I we wouldn't need a very big home. And the home in this photo might just be that perfect home to build in Alaska. I like all the windows and being a glass installer (glazier) for 40 years all the windows in this home would be very cheap because I would install them.I also love the patio porch that goes around the whole home because when I build this home in Alaska this would be perfect for all the mountain views from our property.

New Home Building Contractors License by Robert Swetz I am working on new plans for my employment and my future in the next 2-3 years. Because I am getting closer to retirement age I have decided to apply and obtain a Contractors License in the State of Alaska and start building new homes. In the next 2-3 years I will no longer be working as a glazier (glass installer) in the Lower 48. And I may also stop selling real estate in the state of Nevada and let my license go back to the RE Division. When I first start building new homes in Alaska I really don't think they will be as large as the ones in the photos I have on my post. I will start with smaller homes and hopefully work my way up to building large beautiful homes like the ones presented here.I already have a business partner from o...

I am flying out from San Jose California Saturday afternoon headed to Alaska. I will be checking on our home around Homer Alaska and also viewing the devastation across the state. There are approx 100 forest fires across Alaska and it is very hard to get around by car because there are only so many major roads of travel. My wife had to turn around several times when she was driving from Homer to Anchorage. Now she has a website she goes to that lets her know if the road is open. She took this photo (above) on her drive to Anchorage from Homer 2 days ago. Here is another photo (below) of a smaller fire that broke out only 1 mile from our home. My wife almost had to evacuate because it was coming closer towards our home. The fire was contained after 3 days of airplanes and helicopters dropp...

Here are so great photos of wild life that I captured on my properties in Alaska. On my last visit to Alaska every once and a while I would step out the front door of my house only to be greeted by mother moose and her two babies. Then several days later I stepped out the front door only to be greeted by two beautiful crane birds walking around in the driveway. All I can say about the wild life in Alaska is it will take you by surprise, just when your looking around there will be a moose, cranes, eagles and so much more.

My wife Lin and I were walking the beaches at Homer Spit in beautiful Alaska and came across some beautiful Alaskan Jade.I grabbed a 15 pound piece of Jade to put at the end of our driveway as were pulling in and out to keep us from driving into the ditch.I know that Jade is "Good Luck" and brings "Great Fortune" so I am very glad we stumbled across these beautiful rocks while we were walking along the beach ;o)
