Seth Godin provides this definition of brand that being: “A set of expectations, memories, stories, and relationships that, taken together, account for a consumer’s decision to choose one product or service over another.” I agree yet there is something else that needs to be addressed.Vacant land or home sellers along with real estate home buyers may select a franchise real estate brokerage because of the marketing of its expectations, memories, stories, etc., but that does not necessarily equate to the real estate agent's reputation within that or any brokerage.People buy from people they know and trust. The “brand” that being “REALTOR® or some franchise brokerage may open the door to making that decision to know and then select a particular brokerage. However, only through personal int...

New build construction works for many as the home buyers can have the house constructed to their desires including all upgrades. However, caution is essential before signing that new build construction contract.First, and foremost cautionary step, builders do not represent you as the buyer. This lack of representation is in the fine print and often "glossed" over. Not being represented can create serious problems.Second, undertake your own research regarding the builder. Drive through the areas where the builder is working. If possible talk to neighbors who appear to have purchased a home built by the builder under consideration.Third, extend your research to costs for new build construction as well as local codes.  Is the builder doing the minimum as required by code or more than the m...

In sales and especially in real estate, the goal is to have the potential clients aka as sales leads to pull you to them. Using the often-witnessed push sales behaviors does not really work very well. Hence, the often heard comment "He was a pushy salesman" or "She was a pushy salesperson."Yesterday, I scheduled a tour of five vacant land parcels here in Golden Valley, AZ with a potential cash buyer client. Until I actually invest some time with a potential client, I do not know if I want the individual as a client.  Not all individuals who want to list or buy real estate properties are a good fit for me. In our travels to the third property, I stopped my vehicle on something less than a cow trail. I walked back to my client’s car and asked “Do you really wish to continue to this proper...

Living here in the remnants of the Wild West days, cattle branding is one of those historic memories. Today cattle have GPS tags on their ears to identify the different owners. In the various industries including real estate, the question of "What's your brand?" is still the topic of numerous seminars and even real estate resales training. Today I even received another invite to attend this Zoom marketing event to discuss this concept of "brand" for professional real estate agents.Seth Godin provides this definition of brand that being a “set of expectations, memories, stories, and relationships that, taken together, account for a consumer’s decision to choose one product or service over another.” From the Wild West days, there were memories associated with brand as well as a set of expe...

Another real estate copycat suit emerged with this comment in the filing:The complaint alleges that “most” buyer agents will steer clients away from listings that offer a lower commission. My brain thought “really, most agent will?”  Did those who filed the complaint actually survey real estate agents? My sense is this is an assumption about human nature. And we all know about what happens with assumptions. In my now eight years in selling real estate as well as listing mostly vacant land (Remember, I love to sell dirt), I know of a few real estate agents who may look first at the cooperating fee being offered. However, “most” will show properties that meet their clients or potential clients’ (aka customers) needs and wants without looking at the cooperating fee being offered.Professional...

Finding the right real estate agent is crucial when navigating the myriad details of buying or selling your home, often one of the largest transactions in your life. You'll want a REALTOR who not only possesses the necessary education but also exudes compassion and excellent communication skills. It's essential to recognize that not all real estate agents are cut from the same cloth. If you're a type A personality, your ideal match might differ from someone with a right-brained, creative disposition. Likewise, if you're a dreamer seeking a connection on a spiritual level, a strictly analytical, by-the-book agent might not be the right fit. The perfect match exists for every home-seller and buyer; it just takes a bit of time to find it.Consider key aspects in your search for the right age...
