Sherman Library and Gardens in Corona del MarSherman Library and Gardens is located in Corona del Mar on a little over two acres, and is a horticultural museum. Located right off Coast Highway, and surrounded by homes in the Village of Corona del Mar, you feel as though you are in a tropical paradise. Sherman Gardens is a research library and focuses in the areas of California, Arizona parts of Nevada, and the Pacific Southwest. Because it is a research library, the materials do not leave the premises as opposed to other libraries. Crystal Cove at Corona del Mar, California. TOURIST DAY at Crystal Cove, our favorite local California state beach.  We enjoyed time with friend Ian White who is from Scotland and visited with us yesterday.  It was a glorious winter day with rain and intermittent sunshine.  Being tourists for a change of pace at our own local favorite Crystal Cove State Beach and its Beachcomber Cafe was a highlight. Excellent burgers at the Beachcomber Cafe with seating on wood chairs at the deck overlooking the purple colors of our Pacific ocean. Ian and Christi are enjoying a laugh at the sand porch of the old Crystal Cove Shack, an icon building at this beach location.    Beach access sign points toward the beach and cafe. Historic wooden steps access to Crystal Cove Beach. Just twenty minutes from ...

The investment bank Credit Suisse is now predicting that 6.5 million American homeowners -- that's one out of every eight that has a mortgage -- will end up in foreclosure over the next five years. In a report this week titled "Foreclosure Trends: A sobering reality," Credit Suisse predicts home prices will continue to fall throughout 2008 and 2009, causing a huge wave of foreclosures. "... We estimate a total of 6.5 million loans will fall into foreclosure over the next five years, with the peak in 2008," the report says. "That estimate includes about 1.2 million loans currently already in foreclosure ... The coming flood of new foreclosures could put 8.4% of total homeowners, or 12.7% of homeowners with mortgages, out of their homes." Other key points in the report: One out of every 1...
