Well, I did it again.  Foot, enter mouth....kinda.  In my posts of bank-owned listings, I inadvertently breached a rule of our Realtor association concerning the advertising of other brokers' listings.  In my desire to provide my readers with a single place to access listings in this popular segment of the real estate market, I completely forgot to give credit where credit was due....to the listing agents of these properties.  Hence, the "OOOPS!" In some ways, I wish they were all my listings.  In other ways, I'm certainly glad that they're not.  The real estate agents who take on these repo listings work hard and put up with a lot of things that most agents would run from.  They deal with eviction, cleaning out abandoned properties, changing out door locks, getting utilities on, paying...

Looking at what is to come for the real estate market in Crestline for 2009, I thought it important to look at the sales statistics for bank-owned properties in 2008 (since I don't expect the market to change drastically over the next 12 months or so).What I found was actually quite interesting:  Of the total number of single-family homes sold in Crestline in the year 2008, 51.1% of them were foreclosure properties - that's 72 out of 141 units. Looking at prices of the bank-owned homes that sold in 2008, ALL the homes sold for less than $300,000, with only 7 properties selling for $200,000 or more.  That means that just over 97.2% of the bank-owned homes sold in 2008 sold for less than $200,000.Exactly 95% of the total number of homes that sold in Crestline for less than $100,000 in 200...

This is going to just be a brief post showing some of my latest pictures of our beautiful paradise here in Crestline and Lake Arrowhead.  The snow began the week before Christmas, and for one full day I didn't leave my house because the plows stopped running in town.  There was so much snow falling that all plows and those huge CAT-3? tractors were all on the main highways trying to keep those roads open for the safety of travelers.  The snow fell from about 5am all the way into the night.  My husband actually had to stay the night down the hill because I didn't want him to risk coming home and getting stuck with the folks who didn't carry chains and were causing accidents.  I stayed up kind of late, and the first tractors came by again about 10:30pm, and there were three of them right ...

Good morning world. After taking off as much time as I could the last couple of weeks of the year for family that was in town and Christmas, I got my well deserved rest.  I looked back on this year, glad it was over, glad that it happened, glad for all of the people I met, the clients i served, the folks I've shown homes to up here in paradise.  The Lord has blessed us this year, and I don't mean financially. We've had some additions to our family's next generation, with a n and two nephews.  I've had tons of friends get pregnant or have kids, and I think children truly are a blessing.  My husband and I have been able to begin remodeling our home(aesthetically for now, nothing major, but hopefully if kids are in the picture for us this year we will add on some rooms). Fall has come to Crestline again...and it's just beautiful up here!  Yesterday the sunset made the whole village have a yellow-pink glow, and the clouds made for a spectacular show! Living up here is a real treat, particularly when I'm driving along the Rim highway and seeing the San Bernardino valley down below, seeing the buildings and knowing about all of the cars and people and concrete.  From the Rim highway, you can see all the way to the ocean on a SUPER clear day, but also nearly down to Temecula. I don't know what kind of tree this is, but it's in full fall color right now.  I took a better picture of it, but that one's for sale ;) The clouds were heavy, and we had little rain overnight on Sunday.  I enjoy seeing the fog play with the tops of the trees.
