Just for fun: This post was inspirited by Debe Maxwell, CRS she wrote a post about receiving stemless glasses to drink wine by the lake. Needless to say, Diane I do not have stemless glasses.Diane did not want to be left behind and with that said she wanted to have her wine in a stemless glass. So, with that said I had to improvise.Debe, just so that you know she loved drinking her Pinot Gris from the glass. Wishing you lots of fun drinking out of your stemless glass:)))Let me know what you think Debe Maxwell, CRS Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Lobster Bisque Sunday night and leftover Lobster Bisque Monday night... well Sunday afternoon and evening I worked my you know what off, to make the requested Lobster Bisque. The challenge requires a bit of manual labor and time. The Shells have to be baked for about 35 minutes or more at 400 degrees. Then you have to make the vegetables, sauté them for about 12-15 minutes. Then you have to add the wine, water and stock and add the shells.... now you need to be patient 1.5 hrs. at the minimum to give the liquid a lobster flavor. Let's not forget all the seasoning and a can of San Marzano tomatoes.... about 28 ounces or so.Once you are there you add the little bit about 1/3 cup of rice and the leftover lobster meat no one wants to work at... and thirty minutes later you have the perfect Lob...

Not your average Saturday Night Dinner for this Beverly Hills Realtor... can you make a guess? Well, if you guessed Boiled Lobster, you were right. Diane did not want anything too fancy; she had a craving for ordinary boiled lobster. Those of you who know me even a boiled meal has to be done to perfection. Hence I reached out to my trusted New England Cookbook by Jasper White. There is a right way to boil lobster too.Just to be clear Diane and I each had a Two Pound Lobster from James Hook & Co from Boston, MA.Just to be clear the shells were saved for Sunday's meal if you guessed Lobster Bisque you were right:)) Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. New England Clam Chowda from James Hook Boston, MA. Some of you were trying to guess what was after the Clam aka Steamer Appetizer on Friday. Well sorry for the late reveal. The second course was the New England Clam Chowda aka Chowder. It was quite delicious, and I decided to bake some shrimp and have some of the leftover rice and veggies from the Jean-Georges Vongerichten meal from the day before. So sorry there were no pictures of the Chowder & the Shrimp, Diane and I were famished and ate them without sharing photos. I know I will have to order and make again for you guys to see it:)) Now I am sorry for those who guessed Lobster as the main course. I saved that for Saturday's dinner. So with that said another food post to be done.  Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forwa...

Friday Night Appetizer: are you ready for the main course? Well, I thought it was time to make another nice meal.... I should post about yesterday's dinner but instead let me tease you about tonight's dinner.I find that an Appetizer is crucial to set the stage for a good meal and a good mood. So, with that said we had what Bostonians call Steamers and the rest of the country calls them clams as an Appetizer. Yes, I took the trouble and ordered it from James Hook of Boston, MA not bought locally... clearly it was worth the shipment and yes, I ordered a few other items. too:)) Stay tuned for the other items of the dinner:)) Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. A potential client recently posed this question to me: Do you put up For Sale signs? I told him "Yes" and the reasons being that it potentially attracts people who happen to be driving by not even thinking that there was something for sale, and at the same time, it gets my name out there - buyers and sellers see my signs (hence, name) everywhere, so it generates more business for me as well.  A dual benefit.  Now with that said, there are certain places where I will not put up For Sale signs because I have come to know the neighborhoods and streets where people come out only to bad mouth the property. As most of you know, my niche market is selling vacant land. There are quite a few instances where neighbors will confront me and potential buyers saying, “you cannot build here” and somet...

Speechless Sunday: yes, it is another food post... for me it is either a food or a pet post on Sunday. So, with that said I figured I will give you a break, and this way you cannot say: No not another, pets on the bed post:)). If you like what you see let me know and I can provide the recipe, it is quite easy if you have the ingredients on hand.Diane wanted to go out to lunch and the day got away from us so with that said I knew I could not go wrong with pasta and red sauce.I am adding the recipe to the Sauce here let me know what you think https://activerain.com/blogsview/5728621/the-best-italian-american-tomato-sauce-made-by-a-hungarian-immigrant--#short-url-holder Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. A touch of Paradise: Bird of Paradise a.k.a the Crane Flower. (The botanical name is Strelitzia Reginae) Thank you Debe Maxwell, CRS  for the inspiration.  Here we are already in the fifth month of the year, May, with summer fast approaching on the heels of our current Spring.  Many people are already relaxing and entertaining in their backyard while others know the weather will soon be good enough to do so.   Sharing a bit of personal history, years back when I lived on the East Coast I had an infatuation with the flower most commonly known as the Bird of Paradise.  (My mother shared this infatuation with me, by the way.)  I always admired it for being a beautiful tropical flower, always looking so elegant and stylish to me. Decades ago, if I ever sent flowers, I would ask that the arr...

Another Speechless Sunday Post: check out these chairs... those who read my post consistently might remember I have written about one of our neighbors. When he moved here, he took it upon himself to get all the stray cats off the streets and give them a home in his house and back yard. Well after about six or seven years later looks like his chairs made it to the curb. Holly and I discovered it as we did our late-night stroll. Yes when I told Diane she knew about it already. She was given a heads up. I suggested to Diane to introduce our neighbor to scratching posts:)Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Speechless Sunday: The Last Bookstore's hidden treasures... as Michael Jacobs  mentioned this is more than just a book store, there are artists  and various talents hidden on the upper level. I would have been remiss if I did not post something about them. Since it is Sunday and some of us are Catholics might appreciate it and even some of the other religious believers might enjoy it too. So with that said Happy Sunday everyone! Please check out what is in the cross:)) Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Shop Small on Independent Bookstore Day!Hard to believe that the Last Bookstore opened ten years ago in Downtown Los Angeles. Diane and I had to be at the grand opening. Now with that said I received an email that it has been ten years since the date.We were both busy, but I could not let this event go by without stopping in. Now then to boot I received an email from American Express that if I go and shop, I will get a $25 credit.  Clearly it was a sign for me to go.Ten years ago, I bought a T-shirt for Diane, I know I was not a big spender see the photo. Don't worry she bought a whole bunch of books to make up for it:))Hence, I decided this time to buy both of us a T-shirt, since we all have more books than life in us to read. I hope you will get a kick out of this. Today two T-shirts ...

Those of you who have been reading my posts for the past 12 plus years know that every year Diane & I go to the Los Angeles Festival of books. Last few years we have been less than enthusiastic about it due to the Pandemic Shutdown... anyway this year we went again. Would you believe yesterday was in the mid to high 80's and humid. Needless to say, it wore both of us out.Today was a perfect day in the low 70's but Diane and I had a lot on our plate today... for me two Escrows and for her other stuff. Sadly, we missed today. Now keep in mind I have stopped being a reader, I am now just a book collector. Gratefully Diane is still a reader. Soon I am planning on being a book seller:) In the meantime if you are looking for a focused Realtor who used to love reading and now collects books rea...
