I have always been a fan of Thanksgiving Dinners with Family and Friends... my first attempt to bring something to a family gathering was about 27 years ago... I made this out of the ordinary Cranberry Sauce... two hours of labor and forgot to take it with us:)) we all had a good laugh... so the tradition continued... I would make the Cranberry Sauce and would have company over and would forget to serve it... gratefully our friends and relatives were outspoken enough for me to get with it.So with that said this year I made the Cranberry Sauce yesterday and hopefully I will not forget it to serve it... gratefully there will only be a total of three at the dinner table for the main course and one more for desert.... so with that said I do not expect to forget it.So let's go to the recipe:...

Grateful to have such a wonderful furry family... yes it is 10 or 9 days away from Thanksgiving my  favorite Holiday of the year! To me Thanksgiving represents the American Dream, you can achieve what ever you want, the only limitation is your willingness, strength and motivation!Hence I get annoyed when I see people skipping Thanksgiving and decorating for Christmas! Now with that said I walk Holly in our neighborhood three times a day and I appreciate the Thanksgiving Decorations and get annoyed when I see the Christmas decorations popping up two days after Halloween! No I am not against Christmas, I just know it comes after my favorite Holliday Thanksgiving that is. Now check out how our furry family lives in Los Angeles:)))Thank you Debe Maxwell, CRS  for inspiring me to participate i...

Thanksgiving 2021 is right around the corner I am so grateful for so many things .For starter have exceeded my own life's expectation. Here I am after many people thought I would not live to be 20 or 30 or 40 years of age... Needless to say I managed to cross the 50 and also the 60  zero age point....Despite the dooms day Sayers I am still here. That alone is a lot to be grateful. Now on a sided note living with Diane for 27 years and she did not take drastic measures and I am still here now that is what I call a real accomplishment. More so something to be grateful for.Now to be able to say I live six miles from the Pacific Ocean and am raising Citrus Fruit in my back yard, is something truly to be grateful for. There are so many friends we give oranges, tangerines and lemons to, becaus...

Is it a house or is it a home? Is it an investment or is it a place to live in? Is it a piggybank to increase a lifestyle? Is it an income producer? Is it a good time to buy now? These questions have been swirling around, since I have been old enough to understand Real Estate. Ever since I became a Realtor,  I have always advised buyers not just first-time buyers, that they should not look at it as an investment. Rather a place to call home and where to live and consider the increase in value as a bonus. These questions always follow, well what if the market crashes? My point and advice has been the same, if you live in your home you just stay there until the market returns. Hence the key take away is consider buying a “home where you can live, no matter what the market is doing”.I have h...

The trials and tribulations of adding and changing outdoor lights.... As most of you know we repainted the exterior of our home. We thought at this time rearranging  the light switches would be a great idea as well.Just to give you a background as to the 'why' we wanted it done. We had a switch in the garage which  turned on a couple of the lights. We improved on this  a few years ago by adding a timer.  As you know, here in Los Angeles we have 'Time Changes' to deal with in the Fall and in the Spring.  Hence  we had to to reprogram it twice a year... after a while it got to be a challenge the programing that is. Hence we just  reverted back to turning it off manually in the morning and  turning it on at night by over riding the Timer. Yes you gathered it by now, we did not know how to ...

What exterior paint colors are trending for 2021? Diane and I never considered we were trend setters,  nor did we consider following the trends. Instead, we always like chose what we both liked or where there was a happy middle ground if we were not on the same page. Now with that said, as we were finishing up the small bathroom remodel project, Diane and I decided we might as well paint the exterior of the house and add lights that we liked rather what we had. Clearly picking colors is not as easy as we imagined. The contractor gave quite a lot to choose from, well see for yourself. We wanted a Black or Charcoal exterior, with that said we started narrowing down the choices. The painters were great, they said we need to have some patches on the wall so we could be comfortable with the r...

The month of November brings about an extra opportunity to say Thank You for being a valuable part of our business. As most begin to prepare for the Holiday season, plan Thanksgiving get-togethers and the like, it’s easy to become wrapped up in all that we have to do to ensure a fun, joyful time for all we are responsible for — while overlooking all that we have to be thankful for. Gratitude, though, is a contagious attitude!  Unfortunately, many homeowners are desperate to exit their current homes. Actually, loathing this time of year adds to the frustration of not being settled for the Holidays. You may know someone or a family that fits this description.  Here is where you and I can HELP!  AND remember… YOUR referrals help the kids. Therefore, our Mission is to Go Serve Big!!! Serve ...

October my favorite month is coming to an end it is not your usual Halloween... we are about an hour and a half away from closing out October. This post is bitter sweet. I went around to our regular Halloween customers this afternoon with candy in a bucket. Pre packed in plastic bags:  The customers are the kids in our neighborhood... it was early afternoon with a bucket of Candy and the parents all said : Does that mean you will not be open tonight?:)I sadly said indeed there is no decorations but our regular customers the eight children should not miss out. As I handed out the bags of candy they all approved of the quality of the candy. I told Diane it was reassuring that it does not matter if it is seven, or ten or twenty of forty years later kids still know what good candy is.It is ...

Almost Speechless Sunday: The Covid-19 briefings continue. These briefings have been going on for 19 months. Jill never gets tired of it, it does not matter that it is the "old" or the "updated bathroom". It does not matter if it is the Covid-19 or the various variants.Looks like the briefings will continue a little longerJust for fun would it be nice if we had other briefing?:)Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. What does a Pumpkin Patch conjure up in your mind? For me a Pumpkin Patches conjures up children playing and parents introducing them to having Fall Fun. Creating Jack O’ Lanterns, bringing the family to the various fun locations.Lucky for children and families in Los Angeles there are many opportunities to enjoy  Pumpkin Patches. There are Pumpkin patches in  Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Culver City, Torrance, and West Hollywood just to name a few.Homeowners in my  neighborhood love to decorate their front yards, their steps and porches with pumpkins. I have seen some homes in Beverly Hills that have bales of hay and  corn stalks and pumpkins that will compete with some of the Pumpkin Patches people bring their children to. In all fairness there are some Pumpkin Patches that have eleva...

I love October, it is one of my favorite months of the year.  Not only is it my birthday month it is the beginning of Fall, temperatures start to cool, we usually do not need to run the air conditioner every day as the temperatures are extremely comfortable.  Here in Southern California, we can enjoy crisp morning temperatures that warm up to comfortable afternoons before the evening chill. Some Realtors start focusing on the holidays right about now which I find a bit premature.  For the past 24 years, Fall has been my busiest season.  Why and how is that possible?  The answer is easy, I continue to answer my phone, and promptly reply to texts and emails.  Buyers and sellers appreciate that. The serious buyers and sellers are still out there, and they love the fact that there is less com...

I have been remiss to give you an update about the puzzle. As of October 17th Diane began deconstructing the puzzle. She was a bit emotionally attached, but decided to have her friend try to put it together....I anticipate a competitive spirit with her friend trying to do it faster than Diane did:)Needless to say it took a while to disassemble it. Not as long as it was to put together never the less it took a couple days:)Hope you enjoyed the story of the puzzle!  Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments.
