Rainbow Express Dance Company (REDCO), a competitive dance team from Norco, CA, will be performing their holiday show at Riverside Plaza on Saturday, 11/27/10 during the Community Performances from 7-9.  Riverside Plaza is located at Central Ave. and Riverside Ave. in Riverside, CA.   My family has enjoyed previous community performances at the Plaza, which gives a large city a hometown feel by blocking off their "Main Street" area to create a promenade location for visitors to enjoy.  This time my daughter, Miya, is excited to have the opportunity to perform as part of the kickoff to the holiday season.   Miya has danced with REDCO for 5 years now, and they have performed for Norco's tree-lighting ceremony each year, as well as the Norco Fair opener and other community events.  They a...

Reverse Mortgages here in Norco and the rest of the country will undergo some changes in a few short weeks on October 4, 2010. An informative and relative post at Reverse Mortgage Daily, yesterday: Here's the gist of  it: On October 4, 2010 (yep, next month) there will be some changes to all new HECM loans with case numbers assigned after that date.  We've know n about these upcoming changes for some time now and here they come. The MIP will increase from a .5% annual premium to 1.25%.  This amount is added monthly to the loan  balance.  The principal limits (sort of like Loan To Value ratios) will decrease between 1 and 5% where they are currently.  Use a Reverse Mortgage Calculator to see what you may qualify for.  On the bright side - If you look at the raise in MIP as effectively an...

One Cowboy Bob Short & Two Regular Bob's Too Many-Norco, CAHorseTown USAIf you take a drive down Hamner Ave between Fifth and Sixth Street, you'll notice a peculiar hatted fellow in suspenders. No, its not the Mad Hatter, but Norconians are plenty mad about hats.Bob, the big boy in red and white checkered pants and suspenders has been an American icon for many years, and Norco, California, aka HorseTown USA intends for this Bob's Big Boy to become a local icon as well. You see, the equestrian-themed city has erected and decorated the town with anything horse or cowboy. For example, the water tower turned Jack in the Box sign at the 15 Freeway on-ramp at Sixth Street dons the HorseTown USA Norco sign.To continue the theme, the Bob's Big Boy at 3521 Hamner Avenue was expected to install t...

Local Focus Update... The Planned Removal of Arundo Donax Threatens the Norco Bluff TrailsThere has been an immense response from Norco citizens concerned about this issue.Click here to read the article.Tonight (Wednesday, July 21st), there will be a Norco City Hall meeting. Here is a message from one of Norco's active members about it:"The Equine community needs to rally at tonight's city hall in Norco. 7PM Our voices need to be heard. We need to preserve the bluffs trails. This area is state land and we as equestrians stewardship these trails.  The Planned Removal of Arundo Donax Threatens the Norco Bluff Trails -Norco, CaliforniaLike the rest of the country, Norco is in a state of flux. With the Inland area, including Norco, developing and growing, "Horsetown U.S.A." is facing a personality conflict between citizens who want to preserve their horse community, and new locals interested in non-farm animal properties.City officials, along with the horse community of Norco, are attempting to preserve the equestrian elements of the city. One heated issue is the planned removal of the arundo donax within the Norco Bluff Trails. Arundo is a type of large wild cane from eastern Asia, and not native to California. The Arundo Trail, or "Shady Glades", is a series of tunnel trails created by the arundo, and one of the favorite trails in...

As we may know the weather is getting warmer and we are all looking forward to spending more time outside doing various outdoor activities in areas throughout the Corona/Norco areas rather it be hiking, fishing, horseback riding, we need to take this one caution to heart, from April-October we are not the only ones that like to enjoy this warm weather, snakes that are native to this area are going to be out enjoying the warm sun as well. Snakes that are native to this area include Red Diamond Rattlesnake, Gopher Snake, California King Snake and Red Racer. On hot days keep a lookout for snakes around sunset and sunrise. Snakes take to shade in and near vegetation, rocks, old tires and wood piles. Use caution when spring cleaning areas around your home, yard and business. All snakes shoul...

This has been quite a busy week for me. I got one deal completely closed, young newly married couple and first time homebuyers. Have been waiting for months on this short sale and they finally slept in their new house last night and are super excited. They have been sleeping in an RV in the wifes mother house for the past month waiting to close so they are super excited to be in their new house and wake to and not feel like to walls are closing in on them. Also as of today I got a new deal put into escrow. Its an REO property in Corona, and my buyers are the kind of buyers that you can only sit back and just prepare yourself because you know this is going to be quite a trip between here and escrow.. You can only hope you can do everything you can to get them through the buyer's remorse ...

Yesterday at Raincamp in the second section, Ben Kinney made the suggestion to not only make facebook pages targeted to particular cities, but do the whole county, and if you are the first person to get 25 friends you get to have first choice of the URL and you will become the Lord/Lordess and master/mistress of that domain.. I created the group page yesterday and the sight is now at 90 members and growing. If you go to www.facebook.com/riversidecounty, add me as a friend and join the Riverside County group page. Inventory levels are different in each part in the country, my area in particular,Norco, Corona, Riverside, Eastvale, Mira Loma, The Inland Empire the inventory is low, we have buyers going into bidding wars, and houses that hit the market go into the escrow that same day. But reading an article in the Realtor Magazine that I received via email was very interesting in regards to lack of employment and money is causing more people to live under one roof and causing a need for less housing.. This is what the article said. "The number of people sharing a home is rising, and that could cause the United States to end this decade with as many as 4 million more housing units than it needs. In 2008, 49 million, or 16 percent of the population, live in a home with more than one adult generation, ...
