I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me how I can get into short sales and REO's. Is there a website, seminar, or should I go to my local banks and meet assest managers?  And if you have an account how are they working for you?  What is the average sale a month with short sales/REO's.  I'm refresh to resale so I just wanted to pick some Realtors brains to see what has worked for you!

Have you ever had a buyer that stuck out in your head and had there number but didnt remember there name???  What is the best way to go about getting there name without embarassing yourself?  You have been talking to them, or they have come by your office several times.  I think an easy way to do it is to have them fill a form, or some kind of sheet with there info.  Just let them know you are updating files, most of the time they will.  BINGO!!! You just got there name!

Does anyone out there get a lot of heat from friends and family members about your job?  I always seem to get the same thing...Do you work Monday-Friday? Answer is no, I don't it's a 7 day out of the week job! The other is how much do you get paid an hour...I don't get paid by the hour, it's commission only! I guess what I'm trying to say is that not everyone will understand our profession.  I love doing what I do.  We are kinda like a doctor, doctors just dont stop being a doctor, they are doctors 24/7! And we are Realtors 24/7.  Some of my friends think I'm crazy because all I think about is Real Estate, but at the same time it's everywhere we go, we can't escape it!   I would consider us risk takers.  Look at everyone that owns there business they are risk takers as well.  Most very ...

Hello to everyone out there!  I decided to venture into resale and decided to join a great team!  I was in new home sales for the past 2 and half years and decided to venture into resale!  Resale is the same as new home sales but not at the same time (If that makes sense) Does anyone out there give me some pointers on getting started? One thing that I have learn is the no matter what company you are with, we all have to work together to make our clients happy!!! I'm more than happy to share ideas with any and everyone! Scary but very exciting at the same time!

Housing Counsel: Buying For the Future, A Good Investment?by Benny L. KassQuestion: My wife and I bought our house about 30 years ago. We still owe some on it because we refinanced a couple of times in order to make major repairs and improvements. I plan to retire in December 2009 but my wife has to work until 2011 before she can retire. We are both Federal workers. Our oldest son lives down South and wants us to sell our place in Virginia and move closer to him and his wife when we retire. We have thought about the idea and for the past 2 years we have casually looked at different areas near our son's house. We have noticed that the prices of the houses down there are going up. Do you think it would be a wise idea to purchase a house now, hire a property manager and rent the house out ...
