Of all the places to get engaged, I had not considered a spot where falling to your death could be eminent. I mean, what is it with men and heights? I recall when my husband and I decided to get married, and he seemed a bit disappointed that it happened so organically and not at the top of the Eiffel Tower. But for some, it is very important where the question gets popped.Whatever happened to a romantic dinner at a very expensive restaurant and slipping the ring into a glass of champagne or into a slice of cake? Or, just getting up to use the restroom and then falling to one knee? You can read more in my personal blog today at this link: Perfect Spot for a Marriage Proposal at Half Dome Summit in Yosemite.

Robert (Vegas Bob) Swetz just arrived back in Las Vegas Nevada after picking his wife Nu Nu and her mother up at LAX in Los Angeles California. Nu Nu and her mother spent over one month in Myanmar/ Burma taking care of some family matters. Vegas Bob's Burmese family continues to grow with 15 total Burmese living in America within a 10 years span. Nu Nu and her mother arrived in America with her brother's wife and 3 daughters that have never ever been to America ... Nu Nu's oldest brother, wife and 3 daughter's will be spending their 2nd day playing at "Disneyland" ... ;o) Here is a special video of Nu Nu singing at Yosemite National Park California, before Nu Nu came to America she sang for 10 years and supported a family of 9 including her mother & father.

It has been a very long week for Vegas Bob, and I would like to wish you all a "Good Night" from a very beautiful Lake in the High Sierra's of Yosemite National Park in California.   If you look real close at the mountains in the background you might be able to see snow, over half of those mountains in the background are covered with snow. When this photograph was taken it was about 7:00pm with temperatures of 69 degrees, and there is no way VB was going to pitch a tent at this elevation with temps dropping down in the evening to 43 degrees.    Robert (Vegas Bob) Swetz  8-13-2011

Vegas Bob spent 6 days in Northern California to relax, rejuvenate, meditate and just take in the fresh air, cooler temperatures and beauty.  Most of our time was spent at Lake Tahoe playing in the clear cool waters, along the beaches, etc.  On our way home we stopped at Mono Lake in California, and we also drove into the East Side of Yosemite National Park. While we were at Lake Tahoe, Walker Lake, Mono Lake, Yosemite National Park VB took many photographs and videos like the one above.  I will be sharing these photographs & videos in the near future at Activerain, Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and other networks & websites.  Robert (Vegas Bob) Swetz  8-9-2011

There's nothing quite like a vacation to make one start to watch the calendar and think of all the things they need to do before they go. Even when you live somewhere like we are lucky enough to live, a change of pace is immensely exciting.                                                                                          Camp 6 Employee HousingI've been lucky enough to live in some really nice places, and one of my favorites is Yosemite. When I lived there before, it cost me $5.95 a week for a shared tent and 3 meals a day at the employee cafeteria. I made $1.35 an hour and when I think of my favorite all time jobs, it is one of them. It was a coming of age for me with each new friend sharing experiences at a time in my life when...

With a telephoto lens I was able to capture this priceless photograph of George Washington? It would be quite amazing if this George was to pick this post up on the web and give me a comment back!  This is the Yosemite river that flows after Yosemite Upper & Lower waterfalls, (below) is a pic of Upper Yosemite Falls and if you ever see this Falls in person it is breath-taking!  The photo (below) is Lower Yosemite Falls and it is very hard to capture a photo because your camera gear gets very wet from the mist!                    And the last photo (below) is of the Valley of Yosemite National Park from a very far distance, and it doesn't look like Robert Swetz is the only one snapping photographs.  For more information on one of the most beautiful National Parks in the Country go to ....

Vegas Bob visits Yosemite National Park in California 5-16-2009  Saturday I spent most of day in Yosemite National Park in California, the last time I was there was back in 1974.  If you have never been to Yosemite you are really missing one of the most beautiful places in the World. The photograph (above) is around 5000 feet looking down at Yosemite Valley. If you look real close you can see what looks like a white line towards the back, that is a huge waterfall.  The photograph (below) is another shot of the valley and another waterfall.   In the photograph (below) there is a mountain on the right hand side of the tree, this is called (Half Dome). Millions & Millions of years ago this mountain was a (Full Dome) and the glaciers came through Yosemite and cut it in half with the water...
