Highlands Ranch CO Events - Trick or Treat Street Tonight we went to a Trick or Treat Street at a nearby Rock Canoyn High School in Highlands Ranch CO. This fun free event was put together by the High School and there were many fun games and prices in store. All the neighborhood kids went too! Call it a dress rehersal for tomorrow night if you will. Our son and his friends enjoyed the event. They all dressed up and went from station to station trying their luck at bowling, fishing, and musical chairs.  They made their own cookie creations and had some really tasty looking cup cakes (no I didn't have any LOL). Remember the fiasco of regular voting last time? Did you know you can vote early? I'm not talking about the absentee mail in ballot, though that is a good way to go too. In our area, and I assume most places, you can vote earlier than general election. If you don't live near me, do a google search on 'early voting my-location' and chances are you will find the locations and hours that it is available. Highlands Ranch CO Homes and Information - Bunnies in window wells In Highlands Ranch and certainly many other places in Colorado you can find many (bunny) rabbits. They are very cute and there are many of them.  Many residents know to check their window wells for bunnies. Every so often you will find a bunny trapped in a window well and we go on a rescue mission. Most of the time it's the little guys that seem to leap into the window well, and they just can't get out. Our ever-so-observant office kitty Maddie (read - a cat who would rather sleep than chase a bunny LOL) usually spots the trapped bunnies on one of her rounds around the basement. The average home price in Metro Denver increased +2% in the full year 2005 to the full year 2006. Comparing 2006 to 2007, the average home price across the metro dropped 3%, to $303,000. The average price in the first three quarters of 2008 was $272,000 vs. similar period of 2007 was $308,000: an 11% decrease. These numbers will be slightly different than Metrolist, as they are just Denver Metro and don't include outlying areas like Colorado Springs or Boulder.Much of the decline is a mix issue. For example, sales volume of homes over 4,000 square feet has plummeted in the last twelve months. Middle-market homes have generally been steady in their sales volume. My blogger friend from across the country has given me a scoop to tell you about.  Cindy Jones lives in Northern Virginia, and has told her readers about one of her favorite Hamburger hangouts - Five Guys.  I actually know of them vaguely - I have family in her neck of the woods and my brother in law mentioned to me that he likes Five Guys.  My wife visited this summer and became familiar with them as well.
