A summer dinner dance will take place Sat June 14 at American Legion Post 197, 128 East Hampton Rd, East Hampton, CT. A cocktail hour will start at 6pm followed by dinner at 7pm. The band 302 East St will play from 8pm-midnight. Th event is open to the public. Tickets are $17 each and are available at the legion.

The Joseph N. Goff House has announced its 10th Gazebo Music Series. These concerts take place on four Thursday evenings in the summer at the Gazebo in East Hampton's Old Village Center from 6:30-8:30 pm. This years line up includes: June 26 Gail Wade & Turning Point: Acoustic mix of Blues, Bluegrass, Folk & Swing. July 3 MacTalla Mor: Celtic Fusion. July 17 Vince Thompson:Country, Swing, Americana. July 24 Island Girl and the beach Bums: Tropical Music with Steel Drums. While the concerts are free, donations for the Joseph N. Goff House project are solicited from the audience during intermissions. Beverages and snacks will be sold by area organizations.

The Chatham Historical Society of East Hampton will have an Open House on Sunday June 1 from 2-4pm. Both the museum and 1840 one room schoolhouse on Bevin Blvd will be open to the public. There is never any admission charge. The society is operated by a small group of volunteers with the sole purpose of displaying East Hampton artifacts from years ago for the public to enjoy.

East Hampton artist Elizabeth Sennett, who works in watercolor and oil painting, is having her works exhibited at the Gilded Edge Custom framing and gallery, 20 Hartford Rd, Salem, from now through May 24. The Chatham Historical Society has a new souvenir tea bell for sale. The bell features the 1791 Comstock Bridge which spans the Salmon River between East Hampton and Colchester. The bells costs $3 each and can be purchased at the East Hampton Town Hall, Library and the Village Merchant.

The East Hampton Belltown Garden Club is gearing up for its annual May Plant sale (combined with the Open Market, on May 24 in downtown East Hampton), and club members are looking for community members to again take advantage of our "Dig-N-Donate" campaign. Tell the club where to dig and it will bring the "muscle". All plants, shrubs, etc., will be potted and sold as part of our fundrasing efforts for the club. The East Hampton Soccer Club will hold tryouts for the fall travel soccer league on Monday June 2, on the west field of the high school. Tryouts will begin at 6pm. All interested 1st, 2nd & 3rd graders should bring a water bottle, shin gaurds, a ball and a parent/gaurdian who can sign a permission slip.  Anyone interested in trying out for an existing team should also attend. The East Hampton Junior Women's Club is hosting a babysitters social on Sat May 31 from from 10am-noon at the Community Room of East Hampton Library, 105 Main St, East Hampton, CT. This open house setting give parents looking for potential babysitters, the opportunity to meet and speak with recent graduates of the Red Cross babysitting course. The social will also give babysitters an opportunity to make connections with interested families. The Chatham Health District is having a Community screening Project through the month of May for Stroke Prevention and Awareness. There will be screenings happening at different times this month in the five towns the health district covers: East Haddam, East Hampton, Hebron, Portland and Marlborough. At these screenings, risk assessments will be done by VNA, educational materials will be given out and a speaker will be present. These programs are free to the public. The East Hampton Old Home Day Committee has announced its special 30th Anniversary Raffle. The grand prize for this raffle is 4 loge seat tickets to see the Boston Red Sox battle the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium at 7:05pm on Tues Aug 27. Included with the tickets is a limousine ride to and from the game with door-to-door service (door to door service must be within 20 miles of East Hampton). On Sun April 27, the Belltown Antique Car Club (BACC) will hold its 34th annual Gas & Steam Engine Show at the former Firemen's Grounds, Route 16, Salmon River State Forest, East Hampton, CT.  On display will be many examples of the engines that powered early sawmills, lathes, farm equipment and even washing machines. There will also be an exhibit of farm tractors and equipment. many of these machines have been lovingly restored and will be running during the day. Trophies will be awarded to the finest examples of those engines. Judging will be from noon-3pm with trophies awarded shortly after 3pm. Admission is $3. Food will be available at the field.
