Holiday Hayride, New Milford, CT 2016.Well, it has come and gone, and it was a rousing success yet again! Our annual Holiday Hayride and visit with Santa was well attended, despite the frigid temps outside. From what I could see, everyone enjoyed themselves immensely!I want to thank HVI (Housatonic Valley Insurance) and Bank Street Theater for joining us to provide this fun, free event to all. Your hard work, dedication and generosity is heartwarming. The horses and wagon from Utopia Percheron in Goshen, CT were a big hit too. I didn't get to ride in the wagon this year due to an injury, but next year for sure! It's a big year for New Milford, we are celebrating 50 years of our Christmas trees on the green! A tradition started by New Milford resident Walter Shutte, and one we have all enjoyed over the years. We owe a debt of gratitude to Walter, and of course the United Methodist Men of the New Milford United Methodist Church in New Milford. They volunteer their time and talents, they cut down the trees for us and place them on the green. I know they make my holiday season every year!
