It was a warm but windy day on Cape Canaveral Beach and perfect weather for Kite Boarders. It's a popular pastime here in Florida but you have to be fit with good upper body strength. My Grandkids were having fun in the surf when I took these photos.  Kite Boarder Sails.   Kite Boarder trying to get it going again.  Getting the equipment back on track for another run.  Sailing away!    Contact me to learn how you can start enjoying the good life here in Brevard County on the Space Coast.  It went down into the 40's last night and my usually vibrant Christmas Cactus felt the cold as did I. It's only in the 60's at noon today but after all, this is December! I visited some Canadian neighbors last night and wore my insulated jacket for the first time this year. The shots of whatever it was didn't hurt either :-) That was after coming in third at the Sat. horseshoe tournament and playing my blues harp with "Sax Appeal" at Jump's Tiny Tavern for four songs. Life is good (even if it's cold). HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL! Tune in to WFIT public radio on Christmas Day to hear Fred Migliore's broadcast of This is for all the lonely people.  No bikinis on the beach today :-(   We have a great group of people here on the Space Coast and it's a wonderful place to live!  It's time to have ...

Every year Santa rides through all of the streets in Cape Canaveral, Florida on a Fire Truck and throws candy to bystanders along the way. You can always tell he's coming because you can hear the "Chipmunks" singing and the horn and siren a mile away. Young and old alike wave to Santa and scoop up the tootsie rolls and suckers. Cudos to the firemen who spend their day spreading good cheer throughout the neighborhood. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!  Now that's a shiny truck! My mother-in-law Ginnie has passed away for some time now but she was always big on tradtion. Her husband was a Sr. Master Sergeant at Patrick AFB. She liked just the simple tasty basics with a little pumpkin pie for desert. She was a wonderful person and I'm happy that I had the priviledge of being her friend. Charlie "Brown" Walker who sat in the upper right chair is also gone and everyone misses them dearly. I am thankful that I still have my health, good friends, my sanity and my family. Happy Thanksgiving to all!  Ginnie loved the beach!    Charlie was a regular on Baltimore Bandstand in the 50's.   It's time to have some fun in the the Sunshine State!          Homes for Sale          Contact me to learn how you can start enjoying the good life here in Brevard County on the Space C...

Woody Allen once said, "I hate nature. It's like one enormous restaurant." I just cleaned my fish tank because somebody ate both of my algae eaters and the tank was getting a little too green. After two hours of cleaning, new filters and a water change, the little devils are happy again. Now I have to go and buy the biggest and meanest algae eater I can find so it won't happen again :-). Pictured below is a Golden Gourami. I think my spotted shark catfish is the culprit but I didn't catch him in the act.    Tiger Barbs and a Golden Gourami.   Tiger Barb on the Prowl.     It's time to have some fun in the the Sunshine State!          Homes for Sale          Contact me to learn how you can start enjoying the good life here in Brevard County on the Space Coast. A shrimp boat heading out to sea in rough weather circa 1992 taken with my old Minolta 35mm film camera. The cruise terminals were not even built yet and I could buy a big paper bag full of rock shrimp for $20. It reminds me of the weather we just had as a result of Hurricane Sandy which narrowly missed Florida. My heart goes out to everyone in the Northeast affected by this super storm. Pelicans hudding together from the wind. These shrimp boats are esentially gone from the Port now as it transitioned into a tourist and cruise destination with an emphasis on events and entertainment.    It's time to have some fun in the the Sunshine State!          Homes for Sale  Have some Fun in the Sun!          Contact me to learn how you can start enjoying the good life here in Brevard County on t...

The Canaveral Ocean Racer will take you out to sea with twin diesel engines to view dolphins and have an exciting time on the water. Pictured in the background is Rusty's Seafood and oyster bar which has been a fixture at the Port forever. The early bird specials are great and they have live entertainment on the week ends. The Treasure Island Club Condos in Cape Canaveral Florida are located directly off of Highway A1A on Columbia Drive, just south of the Beach Line or Bennett Causeway. They are just blocks from the beach. And, about 7 minutes from the world famous Cocoa Beach Pier and Ron Jon's Surf Shop. Royal Caribbean, Disney and Carnival Cruise Lines set sail at Port Canaveral, less than 10 minutes away. This exquisite gated community is tucked back into it's own peaceful world. The three buildings boast a swimming pool, workout room and elevators. Each unit has it's own balcony with splendid views of the Banana River Lagoon. Boat slips are available to residents. The views from the boats docks and the gazebo are breathtaking. The manatees swim and play in the with each other. In cooler morning hours...

My fish tank showing a blue African Cichlid, 2 tiger barbs and a golden gourami. The cichlid was given to a breeder because he terrorized the other fish. They are very territorial and aggressive but very smart as well. I'm sure he's being taken care of and I know my tank is healthier again :-) Sometimes you have to make a change to your environment to achieve the results that will make everyone happy. The Blue Bully. My tank now has 4 tiger barbs, 1 golden gourami, a spotted shark catfish and a pleco. They all get along just fine!   Life is just better in Cape Canaveral / Cocoa Beach!          Homes for Sale  Have some Fun in the Sun!          Contact me to learn how you can start enjoying the good life here in Brevard County on the Space Coast. Pictured below is my friend Barb's Grandkid. She just had her face painted at Cape Canaveral's Friday Fest and you can tell she is pretty pleased with the results. What a cutie!! Friday Fest is held on the first Friday of every month and both the locals and tourists come out to hear great music, have a brew or soda and some BBQ. It's a family event that brings the community together and just another reason why life is better on the Space Coast!  What a SMILE! Cape Canaveral has a very substantial population of Peacocks and Peahens that mostly reside on the ocean side of SR A1A. Every now and then, a brave one crosses the roadway and ends up in my garden to pick up fallen seeds from my bird feeder. These birds are considered to be a nuisance by some home owners who say they ruin their gardens and do nothing but poop and squawk. Others see them as just a part of the local wildlife along with feral cats which they feed as well. I'm just happy they only show up about once a month and then leave. I don't need to be awakened at dawn by their incredibly loud screeching :-) Next time, maybe I'll get a shot of an open tail.    Life is just better in Cape Canaveral / Cocoa Beach!          Homes for Sale  Have some Fun in the Sun!          Contact me t...

Brevard County FL is home to Port Canaveral, where the cruise ships come in to port. My family and I love cruising and we typically head out each summer for a 5 to 7 night getaway. It's nourishment for the soul - no phones, no texting, no internet, no computers.  It's great. (You've got those options available for your use, however we choose to sit back and relax without any technology.) For us, taking a cruise is the only way to travel. For about $100 a day you get all the food you can eat, your lodging and transportation. There are so many great vacation destinations to choose from. Port Canaveral currently has long term contracts with Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Lines to place some of their newest ships here in Port Canaveral. These ships typically travel to Caribbean...
