In a recent press release the National Association of Realtor's Lawrence Yun made comments which provided some encouragement to anyone who has been trying to sell a home in what has been a challenging marketplace. Mr. Yun implied that the market was starting to reach some balance.  He qualified this bysaying the balance (supply more in line with demand) was occuring only in some geographic markets and in some price ranges (hint: lower end of the price scale). Sally English visited Midvale Elementary School last week as part of an ongoing "Career" program for kindergarten students.  Debora Millson invited Sally to speak to her daughters kindergarten class and share with them what a real estate agent does in the comunity.   In addition to talking about selling houses the kids got some hands on experience with signs, house flyers and Supra lockboxes.  Every kid in the class wanted to use Sally's electronic Supra key to open the Supra lockboxes that hold "keys" to houses Sally lists for sale on the First Multiple Listing Service.   The kids had a lot to say about houses for sale in their neighborhood.                                                                          11/14/2011

A good percentage of homes I sell are located in the Henderson Mill Elementary School District (HMES).  My youngest daughter, Hannah, attended HMES and is now a successful college student in the Engineering program at UGA. The Enlish Team is representing the buyer of a luxury home in North Fulton / Johns Creek neighborhod.  We made an offer on a corporate re-location listing and after the usual back and forth negotiations the offer was accepted.  So far so good. I gave the buyers the contact information for several home inspectors who have recieved good reviews from previous clients.  The homebuyers elected to go with Marion Hodges.  Marion is a former home builder and also a licensed realtor, but his chief business is home inspections. Get ready to see a fabulous US Womens Soccer Team in the FINALS of the 2011 WOrld Cup Sunday at 2:00 pm.   The US Team beat France 3 to 1 this afternoon and made it through to the finals on Sunday.  France controled much of the game but the US took full advantage of its opportunities and sunk the ball in the back of the net.   A header by Abby Wambach started the scoring.  She had 2 goals.     Alex Morgna chipped in the last goal. Much to the dismay of the surrounding neighborhood, DeKalb County Schools has started construction on a traffic lane that is supposed to relieve the traffic congestion created when parents in automobiles pick up their children from Henderson Middle school.       The new traffic lane is being constructed so more cars can line up to wait for their children to be released from school.                         Adjacent neighbors have long been concerned about the safety of Henderson Mill School children as parents parked along Bolero Drive and children were released virtually unsupervised to cross Bolero Drive to the waiting  cars of their parents.   I have personally had near misses as children darted out in to the street without warning.  Thank goodness I was driving slowly and alertly.   ... 05/23/2011
