When merchandising a property for sale, especially high end residences, fabric can play a very important role in establishing a sense of opulence and grandeur; allowing buyers to picture themselves at home in your Real Estate for sale. The tactile and visual elements of upholstery found in sofas, chairs, wall coverings, and drapery can transform a ho-hum interior space into an elegant, warm, and inviting womb that buyers are loath to leave. Surprisingly fabric selection is probably the most difficult element to master when it comes to interior decor, this is largely do to the staggering selection of fabrics available in today's marketplace. Having too many options to choose from usually compromises the confidence level of consumers as they scour the seemingly infinite selection of swa...

The 14th Annual Festival of Lights Boat Parade was held this past December 18, and included 26 vessels of all sizes richly decorated and entertaining.  The boats tour the marina a couple of times so judges have at least two opportunities to look at the themes on each. The Festival was really wonderful.  The winner, with Avatar as its theme, was magnificent with its blue dancing people and huge flying dragon over the top. "Avatar Christmas" was Best in Show, owned by Tom Hintnaus. All photos are borrowed from the Hawaii Kai Marina Community Assn.  Visit their site to see photos of the 2nd & 3rd place winners in each class too. If you are interested in living on the marina in Hawaii Kai, their site is full of information on a water lifestyle.  Then call or email me to look at some marina f...

I have lived in Honolulu for 2 years. I have learned that when the going gets tough, the tough go surfing. Yesterday I had a very frustrating day. 3 lease applicants either cancelled or did not qualify. Another applicant called but did not leave her new phone number. I was feeling alittle under the weather. Then when I am showing another prospective tenant, someone hit my bumper in the garage of the building I was showing. That was the icing on the cake. I really try hard to keep my car nice. By this time, it was past 3 PM and I went home and got my surfboard. My friend and I headed to the beach. After a few hours of surfing, I once again found the aloha spirit. I felt calm, peaceful, happy and ready to lease, lease, lease. Sometimes we just all need a break. Surfing works for me.

I have lived in Hawaii for 2 years. I started the tradition last year to spend New Year's Day on Waikiki Beach, Hawaii. I invite my friends and some children at I met at the school where I used to work. I have everyone bring food and I bring my BBQ for chicken, sauages, and burgers too. The water is warm. The sun is shining. The people are happy and relaxed. Swimming, surfing, relaxing with friends on Waikiki Beach. How good is that! Waikiki Beach, Hawaii is the perfect place for me to start an Aloha Perfect New Year 2011!

Orchids are beautiful and fascinating plants. But the thought of growing orchids is intimidating to many gardeners. Like many plants, orchids thrive in the right conditions and Honolulu, Hawaii has great conditions for growing orchids. Orchids are picky about light before they bloom, but after they bloom they need at least 6 hours of light a day. Orchids like the temperature 70-80 degrees which is perfect for Honolulu, Hawaii. Orchids like 40-80% humidity which is common in Honolulu, Hawaii. Many people put the orchids in pots and gravel in the bottom. The gravel is saturated with water to create a constant humidity. Overwatering is the quickest way to kill an orchid. Using 20-10-10 fertilizer each week on orchids, even in Honolulu, Hawaii, will help the orchids survive and grow. on fin...

We have had a big party to share the holiday spirit and alot of good times with friends and family. I even spent a day skiiing at Big Bear. I have lived in Waikiki, Hawaii for 2 years and Waikiki, Hawaii is now my home. I love living there. I have good firends, a good job with Rental Solutions Oahu. I love surfing and the weather.
