I came to the mainland California for Christmas to celebrate the holiday with my family and friends. I am having a wonderful time eating, golfing, sharing meals and stories with good friends. However, last evening we were watching the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl with views of where I live- Waikiki, North Shore, and other views of Oahu. It is so beautiful and the waves are so good. I miss my home in Honolulu, Hawaii. I have lived in Honolulu, Hawaii for 2 years. I have met many nice people and love the surfing, golfing, hiking, swimming, BBQ's on the beach, my job with Rental Solutions Oahu. For now, I have a few more fun days with my family and friends in California. Then it is pack to paradise in Honolulu, Hawaii for me. Aloha!

Why work during the holidays in La Quinta, California? We work all the holidays as we are in a resort area and people visit our area on holidays. Also, there are not many agents working during the holidays in La Quinta, California, so those that are working get more clients. We have had over 2 days of persistent rain in Honolulu, Hawaii. There are floods, roads, closed and even the Ala Moana Shopping Center was without power on part of Sunday. Are you prepared for lots of rain in Honolulu, Hawaii? Do you have a wet vac? Do you even have an umbrella? Do you have a mop and  bucket? We are used to showers and rainbows in Honolulu, Hawaii. All of this heavy and rains and floods is very scary and challenging too in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The Kahala Hotel and resort has been fined over $800,000 by the courts for charging service fees on food and beverage since 2005 and not giving themoney to the service people. They owners of the hotel have been keeping these fees gfor the hotel's expenses. Even after the litigation was filed, the hotel kept charging the fees and keeping the money. The suit was filed by a couple who held their wedding reception at the hotel and wer charged over $4800 in  service fees. How will this affect the hotel and resort longterm? We will see how this plays out. maybe the employees will have a big check right before Christmas?

The malls and shops are full of shoppers -  more than usual. There are decorations and lights everywhere. The carols are playing. Santa is at the mall and on the square. Other than that, it is the same old, same old - Waikiki beach is full of sun bathers and surfers. People are swimming, hiking, touring, partying. The Aloha spirit lives on whether it is Christmas or any other day of the year in Honolulu, Hawaii.

There are way more reasons than I could ever write on this page why Honolulu, Hawaii is so special. First and foremost for most people is the near perfect weather of 70-85 degrees nearly all year round. Then comes the warm water and white sandy beaches, the sunshine, the beautiful flowers, the beautiful fish, the lush landscape, the rainbows, the beautiful mountains, the fresh delicious food, the friendly calm nice people- the aloha spirit, the 55th largest metropolitan city in America. Honolulu, Hawaii is so many things to so many people- to me it ismy home.
