Department of Motor Vehicles, Bonners Ferry Idaho - A must see  With all the gorgeous mountain ranges, rivers, lakes and wildlife in North Idaho one would have to think the author of this post must be crazy.  And yet it is true.  The Department of Motor Vehicles, Bonners Ferry Idaho is a must see! I remember even the 'small town' of Truckee California a trip to the DMV could be a 2 hour ordeal.  San Fernando Valley area in California nothing less than a nightmare, along with Reno Nevada area.   Not so in Bonners Ferry Idaho and Sandpoint Idaho.  The pictures below depict a normal day.  Open for business.  So when moving to Bonners Ferry or Sandpoint area you WILL have to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles. What you won't have to do is wait hours in line.  The girls are always happy ...

New Years Day 2015 in Sandpoint Idaho Fireworks, parties, festive dinners, all will have taken place on New Year's Eve.  New Year's Day...January 1, 2015 will bring social gatherings, football and more parties.  With Thursday being the "1st" that means most of us will have a long weekend to recouperate from whatever activities we chose to do on New Year's Eve and Day.  I am quite excited about my plans for the day after New Years Day 2015 in Sandpoint Idaho. Last year saw over 100 expireds  hit the market on January 1st alone.  Within 3 days that number increased to close to 200.  I will most likely have the office to myself (because we all know it is slow during the winter and Holidays) and I will be in there bright and early Friday.  I have my contact sheets printed and ready to go.  ...

Bonners Ferry Rotary at Boundary County Fair 2014 With the onset of winter in full swing I can not help but look back on this past year's events that I was a part of in one fashion or another.  This particular function is one of my favorites even though the money raised is nominal at best. Bonners Ferry Rotary at Boundary County Fair 2014   is for the enjoyment of the kids...no matter their age.     Bonners Ferry Rotary sets up a booth every year for shooting bean bags at cow bells.  For the extravagent cost of 25 cents each participant gets to shoot 3 bean bags at cow bells in a 'farm painted board'.  Obviously this is not the money making event of the year.  It is however one fantastic time for me watching the kids get over their bashfulness and line up.   I try to take on the full ca...

Bonners Ferry Three bedroom Home with warehouse SOLD! CONGRATULATIONS to Karen Robinson and Jim Ronbinson of Bonners Ferry, Idaho.  This was a unique opportunity which also makes for fewer possible buyers.  1 acre of land, a 2,500 Sq. Ft. home with an attached 2,900 sq. ft. warehouse with Main Street frontage.  As well happen often times we were not getting the views I felt the Main Street frontage warranted until we received the first offer.  Then it was like the flood gates opened.  I delivered the final paperwork this evening to a speechless Karen.  Almost got a tear in her eye but she held it back.  The sale of the Bonners Ferry three bedroom home with warehouse meant much more than just a 'sale'.   I have been very fortunate, as a Real Estate Agent, this year in having some very gr...

Our pets mean the world to us and so the people who care for them are also special.  I have been so fortunate in having had Shaya at "Doogy Doo" in Bonners Ferry, Idaho groom not only Halley presently, but Bilbo and Grizzly prior to her.   Shaya knows that taking care of me is just as important as getting Halley cleaned up.  I know I ask those silly questions that leave her shaking her head after I leave.  We can not help it with our pets right?  Shaya's smile and energy never falter.  Shaya knows and understands customer service along with doing a good job at the grooming end.  Prices are extremely affordable while accomadating schedules. One quickly recognizes the fact that your buddy is going to be treated with the same love and care that you give them.  An animal lover herself, Shay...

I posted a a couple of Halloween home decoration photos the other day.  They were of a wonderful home in Sandpoint Decorated to the 10's.  I will be honest.  I was a bit disappointed that the house in Bonner Ferry was not decorated as it normally is.  Well on my way to get Halley groomed today I glanced over to see the weekend had made way to the Halloween decorations. Wishing it were a bit more towards dusk. I took a few shots anyway.  So this be the home representing the 'Over the Top' Halloween decorations for Bonners Ferry, Idaho.  It would take a very brave 'Trick or Treater' to approach this home after dark!   +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++...

Mirror Lake Golf Course in Bonners Ferry will remain open through the last weekend in October.  Always a well maintained and groomed course it is absolutely spectacular right now.  Fairways and greens still lush and not starting to brown yet.  This is a municipal golf course and as the pictures show fairway and green maintenance is still in full swing.  (pun intended) A nine hole course with 2 different tee locations for the full 18.  Rated at 6,001 yards for the 18 holes this makes for a challenging day as you wrap around water hazards, tree lines, and sandtraps.  With 2 par 5's,  465 & 504 yards as well as a 414 yard par 4, one can bring out the big boy clubs and not hold back.     The '19th hole', at the club house,  offers gorgeous views of the course overall as well as the 9th or 1...

Old Highway 95 coming into Bonners Ferry from the north still sits in tact above the new highway.  The difference now is that it is strictly for pedestrian traffic.  Bonners Ferry Rotary has taken over the 1.5 mile stretch of pavement. Cleaning, upkeep, general maintenance.  They added park benches as well as picnic tables at the point that offers the most beautiful views of the Kootenai River, valley, and Old Bonners Ferry.  They also put the Bonners Ferry welcome sign in for visitors and locals alike as they head south to Sandpoint and beyond thru Bonners Ferry.  This walk is but one of the many projects that the small club does for the community of Bonners Ferry.   Click Here to enjoy short video of views to Bonners Ferry and Kootenai River Idaho   MARK DON McINNES  -  YOUR LOCAL NOR...

Bonners Ferry Idaho  sits on the Kootenai River approximately 30 miles from the Canadian Border.  As visitors and locals alike come south on Highway 95 they are welcomed by our American Flag flying in the Veteran's Memorial Park.  As you travel north, the Kootenai River acts as a back drop to the park and flag. Our Canadian visitors, from Creston, Cranbrook, Nelson, Kimberly, and many more cities, are welcomed by this site as they come thru Bonners Ferry.  On this particular day I was taken back by the vivid colors, soft wave of our flag against the clear blue sky.  I had to stop.  I hope you will enjoy the beauty of our flag (short YouTube video) as it showed itself off this peaceful Sunday morning.   Search Bonners Ferry In town homes on maximum 1/2 acre Search Bonners Ferry out of to...

Yesterday I was driving through a neighborhood to check on a listing and was awestruck at how lovely the world is in May.  The sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky, the grass has greened up and all of the blooming trees are in full pink and white glory!  It made me remenber a photo I snapped a few Mays ago in Bonners Ferry.  I think of it as my Baloons vs. Tulips picture.  On one side of the strees was a used car lot with colorful baloons tied to all of the cars.  On the other side of the streed was a big planter of tulips in full bloom.  They seemed to be competing for attention of the passing motorists.  I pulled over and snapped this picture, and it still gives me a smile to remember the unexpected, colorful surprise that beautiful May day.

Janna Rankin Scharf, CLHMS, GRI, SFR - Coeur d'Alene, Idaho Homes For Sale Driving through Bonners Ferry, Idaho, on my way home from a listing consultation, I found myself unexpectedly immersed in a profusion of spring color!  On one side of the road were bright and beautiful tulips in bloom.  Mother Nature's splendor on showy display.  On the other side of the road, hundreds of jealous balloons, competing with the tulips for attention.  "Hey!  Over here," they seemed to shout.  "Look at us!" It was such a fun, unexpected sight, and fortunately I had my camera on the seat beside me.  The picture always makes me smile, I call it Tulips vs. Balloons.  And that day in Bonners Ferry, the competition ended in a tie!

Saturday I had occasion to head north to Bonners Ferry.  It was a pleasant day, with the sun shining and the scent of spring in the air.  My favorite way to be on these kinds of days is topless: cruising in my little Toyota Solara convertible with the top down and the wind in my hair!  I went to visit with a new friend, Rich.  Rich called me a while back and asked me about raffling his home off.  Seems he had been online looking for home raffling information, and came across a post of mine about a local charitable house raffle.  This was a great affirmation to me that my blogging is worthwhile.  People are finding me in cyberspace, even when they aren't looking for me! Fast forward a couple of months and a few conversations, and I decided to go get a close-up look at the lovely Appalach...
