Plymouth SchoolsThe children of residents in the City of Plymouth and Plymouth Township go to Plymouth - Canton schools.  I would say that Plymouth - Canton schools are better than state average schools.   Niche.com gives the schools an "A-" rating. Good teachers, and administrators are striving to make the schools better each year.  The high schools also rank very high on the US News school report. You can check out the rankings on many different websites. In both math and reading proficiency the schools rank in the top 5% of Michigan schools.  The school system does have a STEM program.  The schools prepare the kids for college well.  It is the type of school system where the teachers are in control of the classroom unlike many inner city schools.  You have a very high graduation rate,...

Here are some metro Detroit home buying tips to think about.  Working with a client is a two way street.  When we get a buyer coming to us we want a buyer that is going to buy a home.  As a buyer you want to be ready, able, and willing to buy a house when you start going out to look at homes.  There are several things that stick out as a qualifications to being a good buyer.  They are: Ready to buy.....the buyer has gone out and gotten their pre-approval letter Serious about buying.....yes there are many not so serious buyers.  They are looking for that "perfect house" or dream home Realistic about what they can buy, what they want for the price range they are in Realistic about putting in an offer Listening to your agent  All five of these have come up during my 19 years of experience ...

I went into a home yesterday and for the first time in 9 years I saw an old furnace.  It was the type of 1950's furnace that had individual heat ducts running out of it.  I call it an elephant furnace.  Wrapped around the ducts is the old asbestos insulation. The picture is sideways, but all the white is asbestos insulation. I call this an elephant furnace as there are many trunks to the furnace.  Here is some basic information on asbestos.Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral substance that can be pulled into a fluffy consistency. Asbestos fibers are soft and flexible yet resistant to heat, electricity and chemical corrosion. Pure asbestos is an effective insulator, and it can also be mixed into cloth, paper, cement, plastic and other materials to make them stronger. These qualities ...
