I have lived in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, since 1992.  Over the years I have seen this city grow, from a small suburb to one of the most popular places to call home in the Kansas City metro.  One thing that has impressed me is the City of Lee’s Summit’s progressive response to keeping Lee’s Summit a family-friendly community known for its lakes and recreation.  I recently had a client ask me that question while looking at a home. My immediate answer was no, the subdivision doesn’t have any – but Lee’s Summit, Missouri is VERY well connected. In fact, there is a path at the front of the subdivision! In 1988, Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation Department developed a comprehensive city-wide greenway master plan. The objective was to maintain and protect open space while responding to the needs of recreational trail users.
