Speechless Sundays - Something to Write Home About or Is It? Many moons ago, in college, the bar to reach was whether or not there was something to write home about or not! Well, as an adult, I have joked many times about this level of measurement! This time, I think my Dad would be so proud of me, growing my own vegetables and, more importantly, sharing the harvest with others.  This year's harvest should be the best one I've had - well, let's just say, in decades! Several have savored the lettuce so far this year and we expect many others will be able to enjoy the next harvest - tomatoes.  Tonight's dinner was a simple BLT and some jalapeno poppers - both were abolutely delishous...Have a great week ahead!

Many first-time buyers never consider buying a short sale home. It’s a shame too, considering that new homeowners can save a lot of money this way. For a first-time buyer in Charlotte, NC, a short sale is a great way to stay within their home buying budget. Short sales are becoming more popular. They are a favorable alternative for homeowners who can no longer afford to pay their mortgage. This gives buyers, especially first-time buyers, the chance to get a great deal on a house. However, while a short sale can be great for a first-time homeowner., there are more steps involved than buying a typical home for sale. Your offer not only has to be accepted by the seller, but by their mortgage lender as well. The short sale process is admittedly a bit confusing at first. It can be a difficul...

Don't Be Fooled - Check the Data and Remember the Numbers Don't Lie Note that I did not call anyone a ‘fool!’ This post is a follow-up to one that I recently wrote about Bubble vs. Supply & Demand. Speaking with agents here in Charlotte area, as well as across the nation, I am surprised that there are still agents who follow the news without doing their own research.  Many are convinced that we are in a bubble - you know, like the one that burst in a big way back in 2008. While I was looking for some supportive documentation on this topic, I found that KCM (Keeping Current Matters) had also addressed this topic (from a totally different [national] point of view). They provided the following photo.   Don’t be blinded by the headlines reporting year-over-year housing numbers these days, a...
