There’s a wonderful art studio tour this weekend and it's perfect for a weekend drive. It’s the TRAC (Toe River Arts Council’s) semi-annual open houses for 61 studios, 94 artists, and 11 galleries. You can find glass, pottery, jewelry, paintings, wearables and more that’s innovative, really excellent, and at all price points. And you’ll be able to see more of our exquisite greater Asheville area while you’re driving. The tour extends through Yancey and Mitchell Counties (from Burnsville to Spruce Pine—and includes the Penland and Micaville areas). Look for the signs with the red letters that say TOUR and follow the arrows. For my first Blog I wanted to share with all of you one of the most beautiful places to visit/live in the world. Yancey County, North CarolinaWe have it ALL! Yancey County is one of God's BEST KEPT SECRETS!!I moved to Burnsville, North Carolina in 2001 after marrying my husband.  He has lived here all his life and when it came to making a choice on staying in HOT ATLANTA or moving to these GORGEOUS NC MTNS...well, the choice wasn't hard to make.   The total area of Yancey County covers 311 square miles, or 199,040 acres.
