Corrales NM is a beautiful village on the outskirts of Albuquerque NM.  The population is around  7,500 and offers an old world feel.  You will find beautiful homes tucked away in the Bosque or Cottonwood forest. Many properties have outstanding Sandia Mountain and Albuquerque city light views.  Corrales is part of the Albuquerque metropolitan statistical area. With excellent proximity to The Rio Grande and the Bosque on the eastern edge the village provides refuge for native animals and plants.  Corrales is an equestrian community and its quite common to see horses grazing or being ridden down the winding roads. The village fights hard to maintain its old world ambiance while  being surrounded by the large cities of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho NM.  During the later summer and fall month...

Recently I spent an afternoon in beautiful Corrales New Mexico. It all started with a nice relaxing lunch at the Indigo Crow Cafe. Corrales is located along the banks of the Rio Grande just north of Albuquerque and south and east of Rio Rancho. One of the nice things about Corrales is that even on a 95 degree day in Albuquerque you can drive to Corrales to escape some of the heat. Even though it was really HOT that day, we ate outside in the shade of the tree-covered patio and were very comfortable.     Corrales is located in the Rio Grande Valley, and even though it's only minutes from Albuquerque and Rio Rancho it might as well be hours away.   Not only are the temperatures cooler in Corrales, it's a totally different setting than the nearby city.   As you drive into Corrales you are...

Homes and real estate in Corrales, NM are located close to the bustling cities of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, but are quietly nestled in the rural Rio Grande valley.  The Village of Corrales is filled with a slower-paced, artistic, and peaceful energy.  With a population of approximately 7,300, Corrales maintains a true small village feel.  As soon as you enter the village, you will see green pastures, farmland, orchards, acequias, horses, sheep, chickens, and roosters.  Above the ancient cottonwood trees, amazing views of the Sandia Mountains take you breath away.  Driving along the narrow two lane main street you can't help but notice the signs which declare the Village a coyote protected area and crosswalk signs for horses and their riders.  Art galleries, photography studios, and je...

My wife and I had a lovely lunch at Casa Vieja Restaurant in Corrales NM today. It was a lazy New Mexico Friday afternoon in February. A great day to have lunch and not rush.    We sat in the room with the yellow fireplace. The scent of burning pinon was in the air.   I had Red Chili Buffalo Enchiladas, my wife had Green Chili Enchiladas. They were fabulous!   Of course I couldn't sit still, so I nosed around a little bit...   Casa Vieja means "Old House." I love the nichos and the picture frame.   My wife and I had a great time and we plan to return to Casa Vieja soon. We love Corrales! Someday we plan to have a Scenic Home in Corrales NM. In the meantime I'll have to settle for finding you the right Corrales home.

Old San Ysidro Church "This church was constructed in 1868 after a flood destroyed an earlier building. Built on land donated by the Gutierrez family of Corrales it incorporates materials salvaged from the original structure and is one of the finest surviving examples of 19th century religious architecture in New Mexico."    NM Historic Marker Corrales NM Corrales NM is a unique place. The sleepy Village of Corrales is nestled between Albuquerque (to the south), Rio Rancho (to the north and west) and the Sandia Pueblo to the east. The population of Corrales is about 7500 people. When you drive into Corrales you know immediately that you have crossed into a different kind of place. The first thing you notice is that it's really green. That's because it's on the banks of the Rio Grande. ...
