Folks who are not familiar with New Mexico often think "desert" and picture an area full of nothing but sand dunes and cactus. Couldn't be further frorm the truth! In addition to our lush, green river valley areas and pine-covered "Rocky Mountain Highs," we've even got lakes. Pretty big lakes. For boating and watere skiing and fishing... Recently, my extended family spent a long weekend at one of our nearby lakes, Elephant Butte. Just an hour and a half drive south from our home in Bosque Farms, we enjoyed getting out on the jet skis, boating, water skiing, inner tubing, making sand castles, and even cliff diving (OK, I opted out of that one, but my sister and a large number of the younger generation parrticipated!)
