Welcome to the beautiful Mid-Hudson Valley during the Fall season.  In the photo above you are looking at the Hudson River and the Catskills Mountain around the Northern Dutchess County region.The area to the right shows a portion of the Tivoli Bays which is a popular recreational and bird watching spot. Both photos were taken from the east bank of the Hudson River.  In the second photo, you will notice a strip of land in the river, the location of the Amtrak train track. If for example,  you were coming from Hudson NY to the north and heading to the Rhinecliff Station to the south you would travel over those tracks. 11/03/2024

This Morning Glory got my attention Because of the hot weather, I am behind on weeding the back garden.  I was just wondering what had happened to the  Morning Glory when I stumbled upon this striking color among some weeds.This beautiful bloom certainly brightened my day and I have to admit, the weeds did make a nice frame.  07/31/2019

Evening sky at sunset Watching the evening sky can be fun,  It is amazing how quickly thing can change, one minute the sky can be full of vibrant colors, sometimes it even appears to be on fire, and then the gray clouds roll in.In this scene, the sky is framed by tall leafless trees but in a few weeks, this will all change as the trees will once again be covered in green leaves.  04/03/2019

Red Hook NY real estate market update for February 2019  There were three single-family detached homes in February 2019, two more than the same time last year. One of the three sales was over a million dollars which resulted in a higher average sales price.  The average sales price this February was $495,000 compared to $269,900 last year.On the other hand, the median sales price this February at $227,000 was less than the same time last year when the median sales price was $271,275. Homes sold took sixty-two more days than last February to sell. Other Red Hook real estate activities in February 2019 The homes added to the inventory during the month ranged in price from $203,500 to $965,000.                                                               (2017 Cape Cod added to inventory)... 03/16/2019

Red Hook NY Holy Cow Ice CreamA landmark is what I would consider Holy Cow Ice Cream in Red Hook NY. Wherever I go, to another county or even out of state, when the conversation gets around to Red Hook, if the person I am having a conversation has ever visited Red Hook NY the first place that comes to mind is Holy Cow Ice Cream. Looking at the building it does not look like anything special but people just love the ice cream and the fact that it priced reasonably.Sometimes, when I go by, the line is out the door, and people get their ice cream, sit outside on the benches or in their cars.This small town ice cream shop was named as one of the top ten ice cream shops for 2013 in the USA It is amazing how many ice cream lovers take the time to give Holy Cow Ice Cream review  Holy Cow Ice C... 04/26/2018
