Welcome to the beautiful Mid-Hudson Valley during the Fall season.  In the photo above you are looking at the Hudson River and the Catskills Mountain around the Northern Dutchess County region.The area to the right shows a portion of the Tivoli Bays which is a popular recreational and bird watching spot. Both photos were taken from the east bank of the Hudson River.  In the second photo, you will notice a strip of land in the river, the location of the Amtrak train track. I look forward to the Fall Foliage near the Richard B Fisher Center on Bard College campus each year.  Designed by the well known architect Frank Gehry the style of the center is referred to as Deconstructivism.   A term many are not familiar with, it is described by Wikipedia as  "a postmodern architectural movement which appeared in the 1980s.  It gives the impression of the fragmentation of the constructed building commonly characterized by an absence of obvious harmony, continuity, or symmetry. Each spring, I eagerly await the sight of dogwood trees in bloom, it’s such a beautiful scene. Recently, I came across a post by Nina Hollander about October, which reminded me that I get a second chance to enjoy these trees. In the fall, their leaves change to stunning multi-colors, and the sight is breathtaking, especially when sunlight filters through.
