  Incredible Mexican Food in Hood River... Visit The Crazy Pepper!   The Crazy Pepper Cantina & Mexican Restaurant is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in Hood River! We just ate there last night and I already want to go again! It has the typical fare that you'd expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant, but they kick it up a step. Everything is supremely fresh, starting with my very favorite salsa ever, warm, fresh baked tortilla chips then a huge variety of dishes. I had a pork chimichanga which was absolutely to die for. My mom had the chili verde, which she considers herself to be an expert on, having eaten it at most every Mexican restaurant she's ever been to... including in Mexico!   Wordless Wednesday - Mt. Hood's Summer Grandeur   I never get tired of photographing Mt. Hood in all its grandeur. Each time of year and from different views, it offers something fresh and always gorgeous. I like this photo because it also shows grape vines and orchards which are just so typical of the Hood River Valley and all it has to offer.   Speechless Sunday - Playing In The Sand   When you were little, didn't you love to dig in the sand, build and bury things, playing away a summer day at the beach? Here in the Hood River Valley, our beach is on the Columbia River, Hood River's Waterfront Park to be exact, but it's the perfect place to spend a hot day.   Friday's Foto - New-Fangled Fun   We head down to Waterfront Park in the town of Hood River quite often during the summer for a quick dip in the Columbia River. Then the kids dry off on the play equipment or climbing wall before heading home. This is one of the pieces of play equipment at the park, I guess a new version of the merry-go-rounds so popular on playgrounds when I grew up. I don't know the kids playing on it here, but they were so very determined to master the strange shape and motion.       08/10/2012

  Komedy 4 Da Kidz, Hood River Library, August 7th   The Friends of the Hood River County Library is proud to present Komedy 4 Da Kidz this Tuesday, August 7th, from 6 to 7 p.m. This is a hilarious family evening featuring comedian Angel Ocasio in a high energy, incredibly funny, hour long, one man variety show. The show is bilingual and is sure to please anyone from age 1 to 101! It's interactive, involving the audience, and is customized to each individual audience.   Wordless Wednesday - Another Stellar Day on the Columbia River   Our kids can't seem to get enough of the beach/river during the summer so today found us there once again. It was a little windy for my taste (can you say sand in the Taco Bell we had taken with us?), but it brought out the windsurfers and kiteboarders in droves. This is the weather they live for! In case you don't know, the Columbia River Gorge and Hood River, Oregon are world famous for its windsurfing and kiteboarding as the unique geographical formation of the canyon provides optimum surfing and boarding conditions.       08/01/2012

  Hood River Adopt A Dog Bark In The Park   It's almost time for the Hood River Adopt A Dog's annual fundraiser: Bark in the Park (previously known as the dog walk), Saturday, August 4th. The highlight of the day is a 1.5 mile dog walk beginning at 9 a.m., at Waterfront Park and looping back to the park for a continental breakfast. Following that, the day is full of "doggie" events including contests, a bbq, huge raffle, beauty treatments like a dog wash and nail clipping station, "ask an expert" table for all those dog questions can be addressed and much more.
