Brownsville PA is located in the western most portion of Fayette County along the Monongahela River, about 35 miles south of Pittsburgh.  Brownsville is home to Nemacolin Castle, a 22 room house museum, Dunlops Bridge - the first Cast Iron Bridge in America, Frank L Melaga Art Museum,  the Flat Iron Building.  The Historic Thompson House Restaurant is also located in Brownsville.  Brownsville Area Revitalization Corporation is an organization that promotes revitalizing Brownsville.  There are many buildings in Brownsville that have fallen into disrepair. BARC is a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization governed by an 11 member board of directors who meet monthly.  BARC's goal is to rebuild Brownsville into a thriving town.
