My Easter Story! The Euonymus shrub, which is planted on the corner of our house, was vibrant. The colors, size and shape fit perfectly. Then this wonderous shrub was attacked by scale. I, the owner, was oblivious to the silent working of the scale and it remained unnoticed. When realized, neglect set in and a failure to treat the scale, eventually brought on death. As I was digging the once live and vibrant euonymus shrub to discard it, my wife convinced me to plant it out back. Let's just see what happens. Like Thomas, with much doubt, I conceded. Today, this shrub now stands back at the corner where it belongs. It is once again healthy and vibrant. It stands as a testimony to new life that emerges and reemerges from death and disaster. Thursday, April 5 has been a fantastic day! Today I turned 51 years old and I spent a few moments pondering my life. I give thanks today and just a few random thoughts: I never could have imagined what life would be like when I reached this age. Life has certainly marched on and I wonder where all the time went. I am grateful for my family. My family of origin has been a blessing and my immediate family is wonderful. God has blessed me through meaningful work and it has helped me to become a better and more well rounded person. Today we walked over 3 miles on the Warwick Trails into Lititz Borough. A beautiful day needed to be experienced with a brisk walk. Seeing children playing and families enjoying Lititz Springs Park and seeing many of the downtown businesses, which were quiet today made it a fun time.
