The American Cancer Society will sponsor a "Look Good … Feel Better" makeover workshop from 4 to 6 p.m. March 11 at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street. Local female cancer patients who are actively undergoing cancer treatment will have an opportunity to brighten their day by attending. During the session, trained cosmetologists will meet with patients to discuss how to use makeup and accessories to minimize appearance-related side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatment. The Pottsville Kiwanis Club recently held its final meeting at Hoss's in Cressona and expressed appreciation to the restaurant and staff for their years of hospitality. The club's new meeting site is Pine View Acres, Mill Creek. The club will also launch an evening meeting at 6 p.m. the first Tuesday of the month at Pine View Acres. The first evening gathering is set for March 5. Diakon Community Services for Seniors is accepting registrations for "Living a Healthy Life," a six-week workshop designed by Stanford University to help improve health for those living with chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, COPD, arthritis and other conditions. The workshops will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 16, 23 and 30 and Feb. 6, 20 and 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Erica Ramus Made Us Feel Right at Home This weekend, I drove up to Pottsville, PA for a family wedding.  I had done a day trip to Pottsville, PA in the spring with my cousin and had lunch with Erica then.  At that time, my cousin was in from New Mexico and wanted to pick up some one of Pottsville's specialties:  Hot Bologna.  Meeting Erica was the highlight of the trip for both of us, so when I knew I was going to this wedding, I got in touch with Erica to set up another meet up.  She even gave me hotel recommendations.  I booked at one she recommended, told her where I'd be and when, and we coordinated a dinner.
