If the home appraisal allows, the closing costs can also be wrapped into the mortgage resulting in no money needed at the closing table. Since Governor Rendell has blessed table games in Pennsylvania (just yesterday) Nemacolin Resort has decided they now want that last available resort license! If you remember back in 2006 they had submitted an application for a license. But before the vote they withdrew it! At the time they cited the $25 per person charge requirement for their change of mind. That fee has been reduced to $10! Another change in the license is that the number of allowable slots has gone from 500 to 600. Add with table games being added to the mix the opportunity becomes much more interesting! They announced that they have a casino management and marketing agreement with Isle of Capri Casinos. This is a relatively large corporation in the industry. They own and or operate 14 casino properties in six states...

The Tribune-Review Local last month had a very interesting article on Ohiopyle's history and future. We have long loved the natural resources and beauty offered within Ohiopyle State Park. One of our first dates was hiking to Cucumber Falls. The Park offers a little over 19,000 acres with the main attraction being the Youghiogheny River Gorge. White water enthusiasts from all over the world have taken the challenge of the 14 miles of class I through IV rapids that this river offers. Kayakers, rafters fishermen, water lovers there is a section of the river just waiting for your visit! Speaking of visits this park draws 1.5 MILLION visitors every year. According to the Trib article there are ONLY "76 YEAR ROUND REISDENTS" that call Ohiopyle home. If you've been following our Blog posts yo...

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed H.R. 3221, the American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008.  The Senate concurred this past weekend. This bill includes a temporary, $7,500 first-time home buyer tax credit which many believe will jump start the housing market and bring first time buyers off the sidelines. This $7500 tax credit would be available for any qualified purchase between April 8, 2008 and June 30, 2009. The credit is repayable over 15 years. In addition to the First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit, H.R. 3221 includes FHA reform and FHA Foreclosure Rescue.  To see the full information on H.R. 3221 and how it can impact you click here If you are a first time Home Buyer and would like to enlist my assistance in finding a home in the Southwest PA area give...
