After the rains washed out the Demolition Derby last night at The North Tennessee State Fair, the Motor Cross event took center stage tonight at the Clarksville Fairgrounds. June 7, 2008 From the old to the new... Gateway Medical Center Today was the BIG day many here in Clarksville, Tennessee have been waiting for. At 6:00 AM this morning the OLD Gateway Medical Center closed it doors on Madison St to open the doors at the NEW Gateway Medical Center. The move took approx 6 hours to transport patients from one hospital to the other. Just after noon today Gateway Medical Center gave the ALL CLEAR that the move had been completed. From this day forward Clarksville's New Gateway Medical Center is open for business on Dunlop Lane.   06/07/2008

  June 5, 2008 Today in Clarksville, Tennesse the Mongtomery County Court House steps was the location for the kick off of the 100% Graduation is Clarksville's Business and the unvailing of the new sign that will be posted around Clarksville.  There were many on hand for the ceremony wich included several guest speakers including Clarksville's Mayor Johnny Piper and Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers along with Cassie Elrod who just recently graduated. Local business leaders and the Clarksville Montgomery County School System have joined hands to promote a 100 percent graduation rate here in Montgomery County.      The national graduation rate is around 70 percent. Clarksville Facts In reading yesterdays Leaf Chronicle ( Our Local Paper ) there was a article on biking. As a side note there was a section on the city code. City Code of Clarksville Title 9, Chapter Five, Section 9-508 Riding on sidewalks. (1) No person shall ride a bicycle upon a sidewalk within the business district. (2) No person 15 or more years of age shall ride a bicycle upon any sidewalk in any district. (3) Whenever any person is riding a bicycle upon a sidewalk, the person shall yield the right-of-way to any pedestrain and shall give audible signal before overtaking and passing the pedestrain. Gateway Medical Center set to move on June 7, 2008 It's almost time to say Good Bye to the old Gateway Medical Center and say Hello to the NEW Gateway Medical Center located at 651 Dunlop Lane. If you have not had the opportunity to visit the new hospital prior to the actual opening on June 7, 2008 you will be amazed when you do need to visit. Gateway Medical Center Open House - Labor & Delivery Today the Gateway Medical Center hoster a Open House for the Labor and Delivery Department. The Labor and Delivery Department is located on the 3rd floor of the hospital. Compaired to the old hospital [which will close it's doors at 6:00 AM on June 7, 2008] The new hospital has lots of new technology and over all is a much larger facility. There are more rooms for LDR and Post Pardom as well. There are 2 Operating rooms as well. The Nursery and the NICU are state of the art too.  After tonights tour my wife wants to deliver our son at the new hospital is at all possible. Greenland Farms held a community yard sale this past Saturday May 17th.  It was a beautiful day for a yard sale and more than 30 neighbors participated in the event.  Greenland Farms is a great community and the participation in the community yard sale is an example of why I call Greenland Farms home.  While this was a community event any other given weekend during the summer an individual yard sale can found in the neighborhood.  Take a drive through Greenland Farms the next sunny Saturday and you may find a hidden treasure.   05/19/2008

 Today at the Gateway Medical Centers Open House there were also out door Activities as well. There were inflatables for kids of ALL ages and they had the Clarksville Police and Fire Departments on hands as well as the Life Flight Helecopter. I must say that the BOSS had a great time today. Today the Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, Tennessee held a public Open House from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.  At 1:00 there were a handful of guest speakers follow by a ribbon cutting and then the tours began. The public was given a guided tour in groups of 12. Late in the day the lines were still lined up waiting to see this beautiful facility that is set to open on June 7, 2008 The tour today included the Patient Registration area, the Emergency Room, X-Ray/MRI, the Hearth Surgery Room, the Chapel and up to the 3rd floor Labor and Delivery Room This was a brief tour that allowed us to see that Gateway Medical Center has lots to offer the local and surounding communities.     The hospital has private Registration Rooms and Several private rooms in the ER as well.   Here is a news article ... 05/18/2008
