Brooks Grocery Store is a landmark in the Ruby community.  I don't know all the history behind it.  It is still an operating store.  If you go in be prepared to stay a while.  There is so much memborilla all over the store that you can't pull yourself away.  I stopped in a couple of years ago to ask directions and ended being there for two hours.  The older man that minds the store knows all the stories behind all the pictues and fixtures in the store.  They have been well traveled people and have brought all their stories and history back to Morgan County and are housing it in Brooks Grocery Store.  Next chance I have I will stop in again.  This time I need a tape recorder so I can remember the history.  It was really hard to get a picture without cars in front of the store.  08/20/2007
