Many folks who visit Madison County are not aware that there is a hospital in Madisonville, TX. Madison St. Joseph Health Center (MSJHC) is located south of the Madisonville downtown square at the corner of S Madison St. (Hwy 90) and W Cross St. (View on Google Maps). Within our small town city limits, you can't live farther than a 5 minute drive from the hospital, which allows residents convenient access to medical staff for scheduled health care needs and medical emergencies. I visited the hospital today to take a photo for this blog entry. While I was there, I talked to a few of the hospital staff, all of whom were friendly and helpful. This morning my wife and I peered out our window at a brilliant white landscape. About an inch of snow fell overnight (and is now quickly melting). A rare treat for Madisonville! Today I visited the Osth Family Farm in North Zulch TX with my wife, mother, and sister. There we spent a few hours with Johan and Joan Osth, who gave us a full tour of their organic farm in Madison County TX. They have three children and an elderly father living at home, and together they enjoy a close-knit family life in the country. Their organic farm life is inspired by their love of God and His creation, as they seek to be good stewards of the green earth and farm animals they have been given. In addition to all of the learning we did at RainCamp, the highlight of the day was meeting in person with friends from the online AR world! Marchel Peterson was the first I met on Monday. We arrived at the Hilton at the same time and met on top of the parking garage.
