One of my favorite parts of our vacation was observing the abundance of Bison in Yellowstone Park in Wyoming and in Montana.    There were times when a male bison would stop right in front of our car and not move for minutes. Then he would walk toward head on traffic only to veer back into our lane again. This one bison seemed to be enjoying the power he had over the traffic!    Here is one of the photos that I was able to take with my iPhone5s of a bison near one of the ponds early in the morning. I was able to capture the steam off of the pond in a western setting that seemed to take us back in time.        This photo symbolizes for me the majestic nature, color and vivid life that Yellowstone Park offers all visitors.    Bison in Yellowstone by Katerina Gasset   This photo is copyrig...

I'm so lucky my husband brought mole skin. Little anklet socks don't cut it when you're hiking in Yellowstone. We did see a bison, though, and I didn't have to try to outrun it. We oohed and aahed over many geysers and multi-colored thermal features, concentrating most of our hiking in the Upper Geyser Basin of Old Faithful. After you walk long enough, eyes peeled for wildlife, everything starts to look like an animal to...
