Speechless Sundays: browsing through a few of my cookbooks I was inspired to make some more great food. How many listings do you have, or how many listings are waiting for you? I keep a waiting list for potential clients. This approach has helped me work with clients willing to wait for my services. As a listing agent, I focus on quality over quantity, preferring to handle fewer transactions and provide better service.As a listing agent, I make all my appointments, and no one talks to my sellers but me. I aim for fewer transactions and a higher service. Walking away from a listing is always an option. There has been a rise in scammers, posing as owners of seemingly unoccupied land, trying to sell, or rent the property right under the owners’ noses. If you own a secondary home or investment property, check with your local county recorder to see if they offer a fraud alert service. Most county offices provide this free service to notify you of suspicious activity involving your property. You can also set up alerts for properties you own on listing sites to catch unauthorized listings. There is ALWAYS stress in the day to day practice. Kissed by the waters of the Sassafras River, asleep Grove Point lies in wait. Friendships were formed there, bonds tied tight ‘round campfires and along the trails in her sheltered woods. We laughed our way from childhood to adulthood there and now, we bid her a fond farewell. Grove Point has been sold.   Inspired by the post by Michael Jacobs and then by Kat Palmiotti's post, I took on the 53-word challenge. When I started writing about Grove Point, I thought it would be hard to contain the initial piece to 53 words, but it sort of flowed. I think the 300 word part will be harder to contain. Grove Point is a Girl Scout camp in Maryland, nested beside the Sassafras River which flows into the Chesapeake Bay.  It was our GS Council's only open water camp but even that couldn't save it. Dawn in the mountains near Denali was muffled by clouds and light scattered showers, but there was no stopping us. Tickets had been purchased for a bus tour, so off to Denali National Park we went. We started with a film in the Visitors’ Center, and then we were off to meet the bus. (Yes, the film is well worth the short time spent to view it, as it gives you glimpses into the park’s beauty in all seasons.)We boarded the bus and were fortunate to sit up front and talk with the driver, Dallin, who was a wealth of information. He set our expectations properly, not promising tons of wildlife and certainly not promising a view of Denali, the great mountain, itself.
