The challenge for December will be beneficial for me since I always have a hard time figuring out what gifts I should buy for those that I care most about whether it be for a birthday, Christmas, or some other occasion. Once in a while, I come across something that I see that calls out to me as something that someone in my life would really enjoy and I purchase it and save it for them for Christmas or a birthday, but that is rare, haha. Since my immediate family is filled with University of Arizona fans, my go-to has most often been buy...

Atlanta Buckhead Midtown- Thankfulness - Many Reasons Every Day Many reasons to be thankful every day in Atlanta, Buckhead, Midtown and the Westside. Today let's look at being thankful for Blogging Skills learned here at ActiveRain.Becoming experienced over the years in writing Blog Posts - via training at Active Rain - I had decided to write an instructional post on AR about the newly required  BOI Report. Then I thought that it might be beneficial information for neighbors as well if I mentioned it locally on the Nextdoor app. The form is so simple to complete but the fines for not filing are very high. Here is what I posted on ND: DON'T FORGET -- if you have a small business that is an LLC, a small corporation or an LLP, you must file the Beneficial Owners Information Report no later...

This Thanksgiving was one for the books, filled with joy, laughter, and a sprinkle of new traditions that made it truly memorable!Instead of venturing downtown to join the bustling Thanksgiving Turkey Trot with 10,000 other runners and walkers, my son and his neighbors came up with a fantastic alternative—a local Turkey Trot right in NW Hills! At 8:30 a.m., an enthusiastic group gathered at his house, setting off together and meeting up with another group just a few blocks away. After a chilly 2.5-mile walk, everyone headed home, energized and ready to focus on their Thanksgiving feasts at home. The creativity didn’t stop there. Our Thanksgiving mural, tackled with colored pencils, became an evolving masterpiece from before Thanksgiving and throughout the day. Whether it was finished or...

There is always so  much to be thankful for and I posted three already. My fourth was a bit of a conundrum because it is something to be thankful for and a curse at the same time.  TECHNOLOGY.I recall as a lad working in my dad's law firm when the fax became a useful tool. To me, this was the first real ground breaking technology. Few people realize that in order to receive a fax, you had to be on the same system as the receiver!! I believe that it was Sony or Phillips that realized that there had to be ONE system for all fax transmissions (not the old school term facsimile transmissions). This great technology was well received and started the onslaught of many technologies: smart phones, scanning, advanced laptops, the internet - all of teh technology that makes our personal and busin...

This is a reminder to get hold of yourself and keep it even in the midst of testing and refinement as it applies to all endeavors, efforts, planning and progress. Everything has a beginning, and it is wise to focus on that as it will provide direction as to what is to come and what to do about it. Insight via your common sense is no myth but instead the solution to everything. Without "insight" we will be subject to random forces and eventually failure! THE FIRST THING In any catastrophe, shock, upheaval or surprise that visits with us individually or as a whole, one is reminded first to remain calm, not as let's say, a Valium would have you be but so that your common sense driven by insight can help you navigate and seek-out as well as join the cycle at work and to end on a profitable...

(Dirt Road Real Estate)
Yesterday as I was walking into a local grocery store here in Kingman, AZ, an older woman sitting in a white van called out to me and said “May I ask you a question?” My response was of course though I may not have an answer. The lady then asked as she was looking at my truck “What is a grit and gratitude agent? I have never seen that expression before.”“Well, grit," I responded "is because selling real estate especially dirt takes a lot of grit from driving the dirt roads here in Mohave County to ensuring purchases make it through to close of escrow as there are many unknowns. As to gratitude, I am grateful for being able to travel the dirt roads, for meeting friends I did not know I had, for being able to live and work at my age and for having my family.  As an old school salesperson,...

It may take time to reflect on some life events to realize it as a blessing, yet as I look back on some things (divorce, cancer, job loss) that did not feel like a blessing in the momen...

Do you ever ponder what came before, what is happening now and what will occur tomorrow?Mavericks, Trailblazers and Innovators are what I am particularly grateful for as they provide inspiration to become a better person, leave the planet a better place than when I arrived and what I can accomplish before I close my eyes permanently.  How about you?Let's take Innovators   An innovator is someone that improves or revolutionizes an industry. Eighteen Years Blogging But Who's CountingBlogging Bliss Journey  I started blogging in 2006; it has been an amazing journey! I was a nurse, a ceramic artist, and, for the past three and a half decades, a Realtor®. I never thought I would share my thoughts with so many people, but my passion for what I do keeps me excited, and that’s what it is all about.. I loved nursing, the making of ceramic art, and celebrating the memories of my 47-year marriage. That passion keeps me connected.Staying consistent is easy when you love something. I enjoy talking to people through phone calls or comments and look forward to my weekly radio show.  Wow!  It's hard to believe 35 years has flown by and I can honestly say I am grateful for my entire real estate career!  I think I've told this story before but my first 'gig' in real estate began at the tender age of 5!  Yup age 5!  My folks took me along to view possible new homes for the family.  And low and behold the agent was a lady who had a blue coat and hat on, just like mine ( well kind of).  She asked me if I'd like to be her assistant for the day.  She told me how to describe each room to my parents (which they loved)!  And low and behold they bought the house I wanted them to buy, a gorgeous FLW home.  It was so cool, even at my young age I knew that 'IT' was the one!Fast forward many years, plus college and I ended up beginning my career by buying and rehabbing old homes....

I liked this blast from the past- a little bit of architectural history is good for us now and then as we sleep off the effects of all that turkey from yesterday. French Doors—Ever Wonder Why They Call Them That? I’ve always loved French doors and when I was checking out a post that Barbara Todaro wrote, I got to thinking about the reason why they’re called French doors. So, I looked it up! Beginnings ·         17th Century France—their humble beginnings…weren’t so humble. They originated as windows during the Renaissance period, and went to the floor, leading onto balconies. They later were found in England, too. Cultures borrow from cultures constantly.         And as the same goes for fashion, many styles come from eons ago, and are just updated…(Toga Party, anyone??!) Well, since it is Thanksgiving evening, I could be thankful for antacids and lazy Boy recliners..and I am thankful for these!! Of course I am thankful for my niece who prepared a feast to beat the band!! However, I already mentioned family (as part of people) in a prior post.Soooo, my third post is being thankful for the abundance that we enjoy in this country. We have the broadest array of food, culture -art, music, clothing styles, etc. I have visited over 80 countries and no other country has the abundance that we enjoy.  Virtually everything is available here. Whatever you want, you can probably get it.So perhaps "abundance" was not the best term. Maybe "availability" is better. An other example was an electrical emergency on Thanksgiving Eve.  I was able to get an electrician at 7 ...
