Up, Up and A Weigh! The new ban on weight (obesity) discrimination law in New York City has garnered much attention and is apparently gaining traction on land. By air, New Zealand's international airline, Air New Zealand, plans to weigh all passengers, as they do luggage, before boarding international flights. Be aware world travelers, Air New Zealand plans to weigh at least 10,000 passengers in 30 days, through the month of July.  There might also be flight safety concerns about the extra weight that some carry and how it adversely affects engine performance or fuel consumption when on those long, transatlantic trips. Might be, could be. Fears of privacy breach and body discrimination have come up with some people. It's all part of a requirement by the Civil Aviation Authority. They cl...

One of the many great things about living in The Villages, Florida is how many things are within a 2-hour drive of The Villages.  Yes, we have Disney, Sea World, Universal, Lego Land, Kennedy Space Center and Bush Gardens but we have so much more including the Gulf and Atlantic Beaches and “Old Florida”.  Take a day and get out of the bubble, the bubble being The Villages which I love living here and try exploring.  Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State park is about an hour drive from The Villages, never heard of it?  This from their website:“Paddle through the tangled mangroves, tidal creeks and expansive salt marshes or take to the open waterways to explore the Gulf of Mexico.  You are welcome to bring your own kayaks and canoes or rent them at the park.  Hike our Springs Trail that winds ...

Growing various fruits and nuts, including apricots, cherries, and almonds, gave Milpitas, CA, its name, which translates to "little cornfields" in Spanish. It became a city in 1954, and its population and business infrastructure expanded significantly in the following years. The Rise of Silicon ValleySilicon Valley, located in California's San Francisco Bay Area, is widely recognized as the world's leading center for technological advancement. SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – Starting last week, the IRS commenced sending out Audit and Exam Notices to Taxpayers.  Most of the IRS notices given to me by potential clients have dealt specifically with payroll tax issues.  With this increase in audit activity, one thing I have noticed is that most of the taxpayers receiving these audit or exam notices are businesses that received the ERC.  In addition, the quarter or quarters being audited are the same quarters where the taxpayer qualified for the ERC.Over the next few weeks, I will be blogging about and highlighting what the IRS is looking at when it comes to ERC claims.  From what I see based on news releases from the IRS and posts on LinkedIn by the IRS is that the IRS is focusing on what it calls “ERC Mills”.  Here is a link to the IRS w...

Here we are entering the 1st full week of June. Last weekend was packed with Memorial Day events and this weekend is as busy.I just got in from the High School graduation. It was a cold and wet day and the graduation was held outdoors. I was in attendance as a member of our town's Board of Selectmen. I really felt bad for the young women who were wearing open-toed shoes and shorts under their graduation garb. The graduating class was 83 in number. Their first 3 years were the pandemic years so, they never really had but 1-year in a normal classroom setting.  CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2023 now take your dreams and go conquer the world.  Next on today's agenda is our retiring police chief's (38 years on the force) department retirement party. Our State Senator presents the Chief with a Mas...
