After a breakfast picnic, as we were driving home from the Santa Barbara wine country in Solvang, we noticed that the white wine grape bushes had been pruned of their canopies to let more sun in for their last month and a half.   Pictured above is a close-up of the grapes.  They are much smaller than table grapes. Usually white wine grapes are harvested either the last week of August or the first week of September.  Picking time is determined by the vineyard manager and the winemaker, as they taste and test the grapes.  After they are picked it is Crush Time! Given all the trials and tribulations of 2020, we wish wine growers everywhere at spectacular 2020 wine!
