I had mentioned in my very first blog...that my daughter worked on a paper for her honors history course this past semester in HS. Her teacher gave the students a wonderful and very specific research project that enabled the them to dive first hand into the vast 300 year history of our town. My daughter was not only interested (and alittle overwhelmed) by the topic at hand, she grappled with how to get her hands around a subject with a huge amount of details and she wrestled with how to manage a more specific thesis to make the research project her own.

history: Walk-a-bout Town: Ho-Ho-Kus - 04/25/07 06:36 AM

Today was a beautiful day for a walk around the town of Ho-Ho-Kus. Shown here is a view from the corner of Race Track Road and Maple Avenue looking towards Ridgewood. The town was unusually quiet traffic-wise for a spring morning. All of the trees on both sides of the street have started to blossum and you would never know that only a few days ago, this area of Bergen County experienced a major Nor'easter.
Ho-Ho-Kus Borough is a terrific town located literally within 20 minutes of New York City. According to Wikipedia, Ho-Ho-Kus ranks 15th in the state in per capita income. … (2 comments)
