As a stager, I often share agents' pain when sellers insist on pricing their homes too high. Despite the comps an agent presents that show their neighbors' houses are priced cheaper, many sellers still always think their home is worth more than their neighbors -- until they see them in person. Finally, a piece of good news about home prices in my area, northern NJ. According to the National Association of Realtors, as reported in The Record today, the median home price rose 4 percent to $470,100, but the number of homes sold in the state fell 22 percent in the third quarter, due to the end of the federal home buyers' tax credit. Well, I and the sellers I know will be happy to hear about that 4 percent rise in the 3rd quarter.
