Many buyers are mislead into believing that this is a buyers market because of the depressed economy, news media hype about foreclosure bargains etc. True it is a depressed economy, true, there are many foreclosures to choose from...but it is those two things that have created the new market that I call a "Bank Market". The Final Curtain is here for the tax credit and those buyers who have seen every house in their price range, over their price range, underbidding on bank owned properties, taking Realtors to more homes than their file can hold.....are now in panic mode. How to rent to own a house? How many times have Real Estate Agents received phone calls from "for sale" signs posted in front of their listings from renters or future homeowners....who cannot purchase right now.....but are quick to ask... "Hello...I was wondering if the seller of this beautiful home would be willing to rent to own?" A lot of the calls are coming because of the news media reporting...that homeowners are desperate to sell their homes and cannot because this is a buyers market. Okay, we know how some buyers can be, but are they buying into their own hype? Thanks to the media, buyers are slower to buy waiting for the "bottom" to buy because they feel they can always get a better price! Boy, do they need to get a "gripe"! Yes, we are negotiaters but we are not miracle workers, ask them to put themselves in the sellers position, how would they feel if the shoe was on the other foot?
