Great news for those traveling from the Auburn - Opelika area by plane. Plans have started to make dramatic improvements to the Auburn - Opelika Robert G. Pitts airport. The terminal was built in 1950, and is currently experiencing peeling paint and chronic leaks. "We've got great use out of it, but it's too small and doesn't have the amenities we need to take care of pilots and passengers," Hutto said.
