Have you ever been inside a home that’s been foreclosed? In 2013, I had my first encounter with one in Bixby. As I put the key in, I noticed the door was already unlocked. A client and I were welcomed by the sight of empty cups, food wrappers, and liquor bottles scattered along the floor as we entered. At once, we realized that someone was illegally staying in the house; “squatting” is more common than you might think. Worst of all, we found broken windows and doors, clogged toilets, and walls covered in graffiti--not to mention the missing carpet and broken fixtures. Needless … (0 comments)
