In honor of breast cancer awareness month, The St. Augustine Regional (StAR) Council is hosting Bratini this year to benefit the StAR Council in promoting the St. Augustine area and Artbreakers that benefits local cancer patients on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Serenata Beach Club in South Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida from 6 - 9 p.m. Male community & business leaders will be modeling decorated bras for charity via a live auction. St. Augustine, FL was just named by Smart Money Magazine as one of the top 10 Best Places to Retire. The article mentions a downside of St. Augustine being its location to a major airport. St. Augustine has two major airports less than 1 hour away---Jacksonville and Daytona. At our local candidates forum on Monday, Lydia Kirker, who is running for the Airport Authority, commented on being in favor of bringing a commercial airline to St. Augustine's airport.
