WHAT MAKES REALTORS SO SPECIAL? There are some things I just can't get my head around about the Competition Bureaus fixture on the real estate industry. Because of my family's participation in the industry since the early 1950's I have seen how hard Realtors in British Columbia have worked towards insuring the highest level of professionalism, and protection of the public. It’s fair to state that fifty and more years ago there was a real need for those improvement but I'll save those stores for another time. On the onset I should say that as a younger person in the 1950’s and 1960’s I don’t remember much nationalistic excitement in Canada. Sure we were proud to be Canadians or perhaps in our Canadian way we were proud not to be Americans.We are Americans. We are North Americans … but those guys down wind of us made that particularly title their own.I digress.I’ve seen a national spirit and an excitement about being Canadian grow over the years and in my old fuddy duddy Canadian way I get a little embarrassed by all the flag waving, parties, parades, fire works, … (6 comments)

Stompin Tom Connor is a Canadian Hero. Born in 1936, raised in a women’s penitentiary, fostered and later adopted Stompin Tom left Skinner’s Pond, Prince Edward Island, at the age of fifteen to hitchhike across Canada. After thirteen years of bumming around he landed a at job singing in the bar at the Maple Leaf Hotel in Timmins Ontario.
