During July 2019, a total of 28 homes sold in Wasco County. The majority of the sales were in The Dalles (25) with one each in Mosier, Tygh Valley, and Dufur. Last year, July 2018 experienced 36 residential sales; Wasco County residential sales decreased by 22% versus the prior year.
The average sales price was just over $300k ($300,600) averaging 1,922 sq ft. The median sales price was $269,750 with median sq ft of 1,794.

The median* sales price has increased by 2.1% compared to April 2018. The decline in average sales price is driven by higher priced homes staying on the market longer, while lower priced homes generally continue to sell sooner.

Home inventory for April 2019 increased to 3.3 months, a 27% increase over March 2019 (2.6 months) and 34% below February 20197 (5.2 months inventory). A normal real estate market typically has 6 months of home inventory.

REMINDER - The Hood River Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic April 30, 2019 beginning at 9:00pm, again lasting until 5am the next morning. The closure to all traffic is necessary to complete the new electrical control system for the lift span. This will include installation, testing, and re-commissioning of the system.
Motorists will need to seek alternative routes during the closures. Alternative crossings exist at Bridge of the Gods in Cascade Locks or The Dalles Bridge in The Dalles. The maintenance work is expected to delay traffic for approximately 30 minutes. Motorists are urged to drive cautiously to ensure worker safety. This is expected to be a short closure with minimal traffic delays, depending on traffic volume. Please plan accordingly.
