Winter is still going strong, but Spring (Training) is just around the corner. Seattle Mariner pitchers and cathers arrive in Peoria, Arizona on February 13th, less than a month away. Position players arrive on February 18th.

We love the social life in small towns. Our boys hardly ever miss Saturday night skating at Parkdale Elementary, Parkdale, Oregon (just 15 miles south of Hood River). Every Saturday through March come join us in the school's gym, 6 to 8 p.m. Every age is welcome, from barely walking toddlers to grandfathers, locals and tourists alike. Kids love the games - with prizes! - and the music is festive: do the Macarena, the Chicken Dance and even the Limbo. There is an initial $2 registration fee, then each evening of skating is only $1/person! Best deal out there!
